Andy Murray and Pierre-Hugues Herbert will begin their doubles campaign against Marius Copil and Ugo Humbert. The match is scheduled to be played not before 5.30pm BST, with the court to be announced. Media reports suggest that the match will be played on Centre Court or Court One, which means it is likely that organisers will place the match on whichever court finishes singles play first.
Andy hasn’t played doubles at Wimbledon since his debut at the tournament in 2005, meanwhile Pierre-Hugues was Gentleman’s Doubles champion partnering Nicholas Mahut at SW19 in 2016, and together the French pair have won a career doubles Grand Slam and a total of fourteen titles. Earlier this year it was annouced that Pierre-Hugues, who is coached by Fabrice Santoro, would take some time off doubles to focus on his singles, so it came as something of a surprise to many when it was announced he would be partnering Andy at Wimbledon.
The match is likely to be played on Court One, following the Williams vs Juvan second round match. Estimated start time 6.30pm BST. Although nothing has been announced as yet.
