Wimbledon R2: Murray vs Karlovic

Andy will play that beanpole of the tennis world, 33 year-old Ivo Karlovic, today.
Approx 3:30 pm
Their H2H is 3-0 to Andy, and their last meeting was in 2008. They have never played each other on grass.
Hopefully Andy can replicate the form we saw against Davydenko and not give his fans too many nervous moments!

Thanks for the low-down Aileen and H2H. Interesting, since they haven't played on grass.
What time will it be on? Late I hope so'as I can get home from work to watch.
I wonder what Bevs H2H portrait photos will be like on her H2H ?

Awkward match. Awkward to watch and I just hope Andy plays aggressively enough to avoid tie-breaks.
I remember him thrashing Karlovic in Cincinnati - his return game was supreme that day.

Ive checked Karlovic's stats. His best surface is grass by a long way. He's won twice as many matches on grass as he has lost.
He is 33 so should be slowing down by now. But I guess he won't have to run for half the match ie. when he serves!
His world ranking is 57 but he's probably top 25 on grass.
This is going to be a fascinating match but Andy will break him down eventually. Andy to win in 3

Wonder if he can win this without a tiebreak.

I searched on You Tube for this, but found only a poor quality match from 2007.
Any links out there?

No idea, it wasn't a pretty match, it never is with Dr Ivo.
But it's one of the best returning displays of Murray's career, and it was on the road to his first ever MS title.

Well Andy played amazing tennis yesterday, and this should give him confidence coming into this match.
So Andy, seeing as you had such fab stats yesterday, my wish for you is that you repeat those stats against Karlovic. Best of luck Andy Mr Magic, we'll all be sending good vibes.

What do you think that Ivo Karlovic has (apart from an inch in height and 15lbs less in weight) that John Isner hasn't? I only ask as I saw Andy dismantle Isner at the AO in 3 sets.
I've also seen Karlovic at the AO, and if I recall correctly, he lost in straight sets to Nadal, the year he lost to Ferrer, so 2010? I can't check on the ATP tour website because it's playing up
Yes, Karlovic has won 3 titles on grass but he's also gone out in the 1st round in Wimbledon in the same year those titles were won.
He comes across as a nice player but obviously hasn't the range of shots that Andy has.
I hope that Andy's serving is as good, or better, than on Tuesday, and that he's able to latch on to those returns pretty quickly.
