WTF 2016 SF: Andy Murray vs Milos Raonic

Quote

Just wish Nish tactically saved energy from his Cilic match  doh then he would have had a real good shot at novak now he has none

If Andy was in good condition then normally I'd say yes. Given his exertions this week and Novak's relative cakewalk, I fear bakery products. Would be a rather anti-climatic way to end the year. I'll take a huge upset tonight I think. But Djokovic must have the upper hand, given the seven levels of hell his two opponents have given each other in the groups. Some credit is due for handling Raonic in two sets in his one tough encounter.

He was helped massively by Raonic 's muggery. Raonic was up in both tiebreaks and blew it.

Heart says Nishikori, mind says Djokovic.

I think that Kei has a good chance of beating novak tonight.

Same here.

I think that Kei has a good chance of beating novak tonight.
Well you got it right with Andy's match, so maybe, just maybe ... From what I've seen of Djoko in this tournament, he does look beatable, but he's also going to be daisy fresh.  If Kei or Andy weren't so knackered I'd they'd both be in with a chance.

Not a hopeful beginning.

No surprise.  Kei was poor in his match against Cilic.  Won the first set then just fell apart, although in fairness to Cilic he was playing well.

That said Djoko seems to be playing the best he has done all tournament.

4-0 Nishikori getting thrashed at the moment.

Not a good start by Kei.

It's his own fault if he's tired and Andy is going to suffer as a result as well :/

Kei breaks but still 1-4

I had to be out for most of the day, and came in just in time to watch Murray get broken to go into the final tie-break.

Which turned out to be a little more stressful than I was anticipating.

And you lot who watched the whole match?  I'm kind of surprised you're still alive...!

Now, I'm usually on the optimistic side, but if Murray can beat Djokovic at this stage in the season, after two 3 hour plus struggles, while Kei nicely rolls over for Djokovic 6-1 6-1, it would have to be up there as one of the most remarkable results of his career...

Rooting for Raonic now...

Superb tactical decision here.  Taking my hat off to you, sir.

Skimming through this and seeing how stressed you all were in the first tie-break, little knowing what was heading your way, feels almost cruel...;-)
