WTF 2016 SF: Andy Murray vs Milos Raonic

Quote

Well in actual fact Nole looked more tired.
Lots of speculation about his diet elsewhere......oh and his guru. He seemed to be meditating at changeover, wonder what Boris thought of that.
I've said all tournament that Novak has looked rather tired, and yes I did notice the meditating.  Didn't do him much good though!  I don't suppose Boris cares, since, if recent rumours in reliable sources are to be believed, his contract won't be renewed for next season - and if there was any doubt I'd think today's result alone could see him becoming surplus to requirements!

Coaches come and go, as we know, and Boris did improve Nole's game. Perhaps it's a general feeling that he's done as much as he can?

Could be, but I guess we're unlikely to find out unless one of them chooses to say anything.

Very interesting to read that post now Ruthie, as well as my own one!  Smile
Indeed Aileen though I do pride myself on having said I didn't think Novak had been playing nearly as well in his previous two matches as the commentators and he himself had been claiming   Whistle

I was wondering what damage the egg may have done as it's supposed to only be used rarely and can affect the eyes and liver

That's an interesting thought tamila, but then we don't really know how often he might have used it.  I do know though that it's use is not recommended for people unless it's under strict medical supervision.  It would be very sad really to think he might have screwed up his career by using it just to fulfil his ambition to be better than everyone else.

We do know as he has said he used it everyday at  the AO for at least 2 years and frequently in the USA

I know, but its use outside of hospitals, NHS and private, is banned throughout Europe.  Of course, where's a will, there's a way ...!

I wonder what else will come out - like the full truth about his 'private issues' this year. Whistle

I agree-  I was at Saturdays  matches- and Nishikori was woeful! I remarked to. Y friend that Novak wouldn't know what to do when he played Andy and the ball came back at him in the court.

I agree too because I watched all Novak's matches.  Thiem rolled over after winning the first set, Raonic had plenty of chances but couldn't take them even with that bomb of a serve of his, and Goffin was undercooked because he'd had very little time to prepare.  Andy may have been running on empty by the time of the final, but as he said himself, he got his tactics right - and when players do that it's half the battle.
