Incredible result.  Well done Cam!  Had to go out after the first two sets so wasn't quite expecting this amazing turn around.

He has a Welsh mother and a Scottish father.  So he was born in South Africa and brought up in New Zealand - if a cat has kittens in a stable it doesn't make them horses, does it?

Exactly.  Far too much nonsense about this 'foreigner' thing.  Kyle was born in S Africa as well, but while his mother is South African, his father is Welsh, and anyway he's lived in the UK since he was three.  We accepted Rusedski without any fuss despite the fact that he was born in Canada, but although his father was born in Germany and was of Polish and Ukrainian descent, his mother is English.  James Blake was another who could have played under the British flag had he chosen to do so because his mother too was English.   Admittedly the same does not apply to Jo Konta, Laura Robson and Aljaz Bedene, although thanks to the intransigence of the ITF regarding the Davis Cup, Aljaz has returned to his native Slovenia.

I don't know, but on his Instagram Cameron refers to a link to this video, so, although I haven't listened to it myself yet, maybe we might get the explanation here.  If you want to have an emoji added, then PM Mark.

Yeh, it gets annoying, Federer's mother is from South Africa, this is not mentioned at all, and no-one questions his nationality, because he was born in  Switzerland, an event he had no control over, at all.
