Sadly Cam got beaten 6-4, 6-4 by Tiafoe.  Don't know if it was the blustery conditions but it just wasn't his day although he did seem to get going halfway through the second set.

Have no idea what's going on with Cam.  Lost his first match in Miami and did the sane in Monte Carlo.

After a couple of disastrous tournaments, it was nice to see Cam win his first match in Madrid, beating World No.  117  Yosuke Watanuki 6-4, 7-6(3), coming back from 4-1 down in the first to do so.

Cam played Sebastian Baez In a repeat of last year's QF in Lyon,  defeating him 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.  Cam played a couple of loose games in the second but came back firing on all cylinders to take the third.  Plays Francisco Cerundolo who defeated Jack Draper in three sets next.

SF wasn't so great.  Lost 3-6, 0-6 to Francisco Cerundolo.  It wasn't that Cam played badly just that Francisco played even better and was right on top of his game from the start.  Cam though was seen clutching his stomach occasionally during the second set so it's possible he  could have picked up an injury.  Hope not with RG starting on Monday.

Cam wins 6-1, 6-3, 6-3.  Even the raucous crowd couldn't help Pouille it didn't help him either that the umpire failed to see a double bounce at 3-1 in the third and so gave Cam the point which allowed him to break.
