Excellent win. I wish her well for the final.

So good to see her play. Apparently still ithout all the pressures of the circuit seems to make a big difference. Let us hope that she continues to play this way.

Emma has had a great week in Chicago, good luck in the final  cmon yeah

If she wins this tournament will she be able to enter the qualifiers event for the USO?  Or will she be able to enter the qualifiers even if she doesn't win in Chicago?

Does anyone know why the final hasn't started yet?  It was due to start at 1900hrs our time.

5-4 Tauson in the 3rd with Emma to serve.  Cmon!

CP Tauson - and she takes it.

Shame Emma couldn't hold serve, but she did well to fight back from 6-1 down in the first.

A good effort this. Shame she lost the final  but these have been good weeks for her playing in the USA, Not much coverage in UK news media. I would have thought that such a bright prospect now number three in UK would create more interest!  However probably for the better that she can get herself up the rankings and into higher level tournaments without too much pressure?

The media probably won't show any interest until she does start playing at a higher level and wins something significant.  Meanwhile I agree that it's best that she's left to develop at her own pace.

"Former world number one Andy Murray has praised Raducanu for the success she has had in 2021, calling it a ‘good sign’ for the future.

“Lots of people in British tennis have obviously got very high hopes for her. I’ve seen her around training and I’ve hit with her myself. I have a lot of belief in her game and her potential. Mentally, I think she is in a very good place."

“I think she’s really switched on and is really into her tennis. She’s certainly heading in the right direction and she will certainly continue to move up the rankings.”

Impressive win for Emma against 31 year old Stefanie Voegele 6-2, 6-3, coming back as she did from a break down in each set.  Thought the last game was going to go on forever but she finally took it on her 7th match point.

Speaking on court, the world number 150 said: "I think everyone could tell I was getting a bit shaky in the last game.

"I got there in the end and I was just so relieved. The crowd helped me so much and it feels so amazing to be playing in front of fans again over here in the States. They have made me feel so at home and so welcome so I really appreciate it."
