Emma took the first set 6-0.  Now 5-1 in the second.  Probably not surprisingly she seems to get nervous when it comes to closing matches out ... but she finally does it on her serve in the next game.  Sunning performance!

Been waiting a long time for a Brit to follow Andy into the big time. Laura and Jo showed promise but this girl could go all the way. Top 100 at 18 is a big statement. And that smile.. WOW

I don't think she'll let success go to her head either because she seems too well-grounded for that to happen.

Well, Barty lost to Rogers so that likely increases Emma's chances in R4.

That said she will be up against a home player with momentum and the crowd.

I thought that I would check the timetable on bet365 for Monday.
There will be a lot of pressure on Emma for this next match. They have her an odds on favourite to win this one!  I assume that is because betting companies would lose so much if she won?  Never been a gambler but I give her an evens chance.

I thought that Barty lost that match rather than Rogers win it. There were some special shots but not a lot.  Barty went passive a lot of the time at the end of that last set and was playing the ball back straight into her hitting zone so many of those winners were easy to make. I doubt if Emma will go passive.
