I meant that that was the end of Emma's season apart from the Billie Jean Cup. Hopefully she will take part in that.
In some ways winning the USO last year didn't do her any good because so much has been expected of her this year. If she'd been an "ordinary" player she has, in fact, done very well in 2022.
She is very injury prone I agree. I don't have Twitter but there are some very harsh comments about her there, probably not tennis fans. They think she's in the wrong career entirely.
I must admit that I've sometimes wondered if she wouldn't be better taking up the scholarship she was awarded at Cambridge. At least she would be reasonably sure of a career if she did that and nor would it stop her from playing tennis. If she continues to be this injury prone then her tennis career is going to be one of constant disruption, and that won't be much fun for her.

That is Twitter for you. Public figures get major abuse for the least thing. Female politicians get truly vile stuff aimed at them.
In the case of Emma, at 19 she has won one of the biggest prizes in sport, become gobally famous, and is made for life financially. Alas this makes her the target of a huge amount of resentment. Although attitudes to gender have improved in many ways, it is still striking how much spite successful women have directed at them, either in directly misogynist ways, or in the form of more camouflaged sniping.

I'll say this again - she needs a good fitness trainer.
She might have listened to you. None other than Jez Green now appointed!

Oh wow! He'll soon sort her out, although hopefully a bit more gently than he did with Andy!
PS - Just read that she's split with Tursunov, or rather he seems to have ditched her in favour of another coaching opportunity, which is a bit of a shame because there were noticeable improvements in her game after she took him on board, and also they seemed to get on well together. I don't fancy her chances of getting another coach any time soon though, because going through 5 coaches in 15 months must be something of a record.

Yes, it seems a bit of a farce now - no stability. The Dad apparently approves of chopping and changing, but he might be best to back off now as he has no experience of top-level tennis himself.

It now turns out that Tursunov's other 'coaching opportunity' could be Belinda Bencic as he was spotted training with her before a tournament in Mexico.

"Emma Raducanu gives injury update as Brit returns to practice with noticeable difference"
The difference being that she's practising using her left hand because her playing wrist hasn't healed yet, and wants to practise her footwork and movement round the court.

I'm not sure this is a wise idea because her body isn't used to working this way so she could well injure something else. However no doubt Jez Green will be keeping her right.

Emma is trialling a new coach -
"Emma Raducanu is set to tackle the new season with a new coach in 30 year old German Sebastian Sachs, who helped Switzerland's Belinda Bencic win the Olympic gold medal last year. He will step into the hot seat after what has effectively been a swap with Bencic, whose coaching has been taken over by Russian Dmitry Tursunov, who was with Raducanu until early October this year."
Sachs had a brief playing career which saw him fail to make it beyond the basic Futures level, but for someone relatively young has amassed plenty of coaching experience since then. He worked on the team of former world number one Victoria Azarenka, and then coached Germany's Julia Goerges, who he helped reach the world's top ten.
With a reputation for thorough preparation, he is said to have impressed the player in their brief trial so far and quickly struck up a strong rapport."
