The s/f match starts at - maybe - 7.20am this morning.  Ostapenko is a very good player, Emma will need to be at her very best to beat her.

She does look very good at times. Her oppenent is good defensively so Emma's winning plays need to be a little more decisive. However i can see a lot today to give cause for optimism that she will start to win more.

It suppose it could be as there are only a handful of tournaments left, but she might play in the Billie Jean King Cup finals which are being held in the Emirates Arena in Glasgow from 8 - 13 November.

It's the fact that she's so prone to injury that's the worry, yet she got through the USO last year without any problems, which is rather strange.

I meant that that was the end of Emma's season apart from the Billie Jean Cup.  Hopefully she will take part in that.

In some ways winning the USO last year didn't do her any good because so much has been expected of her this year.  If she'd been an "ordinary" player she has, in fact, done very well in 2022.

She is very injury prone I agree.  I don't have Twitter but there are some very harsh comments about her there, probably not tennis fans. They think she's in the wrong career entirely.
