1st set Jake 7-6(8-6), 2nd set 6-3, and the 3rd 6-2.  Nice to see Stan getting a standing ovation from the crowd who were urging him on throughout.

This win puts Jake's ranking up three places to No. 52

Plays Ugo Humbert in R2.

court Sim-Mat https://daddylive.dad/stream/stream-1503.php 6.05pm FEARNLEY v Humbert
1st set Fearnley 6-3.

2nd set, Umbert was leading 4-3 on his serve, when at deuce he took a massive tumble.  Returned to the court after a lengthy MTO with his right calf strapped.   Tried to continue playing, Fearnley took the game to make it 4-4, at which point Umbert retired.

Not the way anyone wants to win a match, but Jake plays Cam in R3.

Queens R1

Fearnley vs Alex Bolt (Q)

Jake took a little over an hour to see off Bolt 6-2, 6-4.

Queens R2 - Fearnley vs Corentin Moutet, the enfant terrible of French tennis.

Jake won 6-3, 2-6, 6-2.  Took a bathroom break at the end of set 2, came back and upped the aggression while Moutet upped his eccentric behaviour.  Jake though kept his nerve and his focus and got the job done to reach his first ATP Tour QF..

Plays Jiri Lehecka next.

1st set Lehecka 7-5.  Jake was leading 3-1 when DFs started coming into his service game - 8 in total, 3 of them in the one game at 3-2.  Nerves maybe?

2nd set 6-2 Lehecka, who could do little wrong in this set.  Jake though could do with improving his serve, something I'm sure he knows.

Ranking has gone up 9 places to No. 51.

EASTBOURNE

Opelka won 7-6(8-6), 3-6, 7-6(7-1).  Very good confident performance from George.  Maybe we might hear more about him in the future.

EASTBOURNE - Fearnley vs Flavio Cobolli

Jake won 6-2, 6-2, but took an unfortunate slip in the penultimate game in which he looked to have hurt his right ankle.  Seemed to move okay after that, but that's what happens when adrenaline kicks in.  Hopefully it's nothing too serious.

Fearnley vs Marcos Giron

Didn't watch but Giron won 6-3, 6-1 so have  no idea if injury contributed to Jake's loss.
