And with all the job cuts...what jobs exactly are you planning on on them doing considering that most recruitments frozen and jobs are scarce? Think

That was just one jobs board.

There won't be much differentiation across the job sites to be fair, most agencies/companies will advertise with more than one site.

I would agree with that.

That was just one jobs board.

But why work when you can get more on benefits?  Don't get me wrong, I agree that there are some lazy sods out there and there are genuine cases too.  I saw that they are talking of capping benefits but they need to act quickly and start checking claims thoroughly and stop pussy-footing around those that make fraudulent claims.  Get them doing hard labour to pay it back! whip

PAYE has nothing to do with having children.

Thank you for making my point for me. So why are you arguing that people who DON'T have children, should pay for those who do?

And also, as much as I find myself agreeing with Nigel, we are kind of arguing a mute point. I mean, it's stopping child benefit for higher earners, an excellent decision, not stopping it for everyone.

And I too detest those people who have large broods. Fine if you can afford it. Not fine if you are just living off the state. Sick sick people abusing the system.

Does anyone know what exactly the PAYE income is used for and how much it approximately totals per annum?

Just goes into the "tax pot" I would have thought? As for totals I have no idea, but google could probably tell you.

This is what drives me nuts about the money the Government collects - as far as I know all tax money goes into some huge melting pot, never to be seen again.  Think how much they must get on VAT alone ... I did Google it, but think I must be asking the wrong question as I can't get any kind of satsifactory answer.

Me neither. I could research it but I can't be arsed lol

I can understand everyone's frustration about Child Benefit - however, if you planned for one child and got two (Buy one get one free) working was not an option, as wages would have gone on child care.  I, for one, was mighty glad of Child Benefit - And the only time I took off work was until my kids went to school, so I think I earned it... Totally.  Even Gran was worn out!  hehe!  It takes pure skill to feed two babies at once, and a hard heart to leave one crying...  pullhair
