Everyone will say different things about manufacturers. I had a bad experience with Dell with the first desktop I ever had. You do save a bit of money on their laptops due to the fact they cut out the intermediaries in their supply chain, and the quality of their laptops does seem to have improved. http://crave.cnet.co.uk/laptops/netbook-showdown-the-top-10-mini-laptops-rated-49297248/5/They seem to rate the Toshiba very highly, if you could get that in black or white, that would be a cracking buy. £300 for a netbook, Andrew? Even the Sony Vaio one is cheaper than that, don't think a word processing gadget it worth that much to me. Can anyone explain the difference between Windows 7 and Windows 7 Starter? The Acer Aspire netbook seems great but my laptop is also in the Aspire series... grrrrrr.

Still having image issues. Tried to sort the zoom - nothing. Keeps telling me to press shift + A to improve all the images on screen...

Is this only happening within your browser or are images on your computer in general looking poor?
Your problem is just a little strange.... so Google Maps is not loading now, I thought it was just about image quality?

Well so did I! I think I've fixed it for the moment...did a little fishing around on the net. Seems it's not that uncommon...

Put in your Windows CD > Restart > In a few seconds there will be a message at the top left of the black screen telling you to press a key if you want to load from the CD, do that > Follow the setup instructions and at some point it will give you the option to reformat/wipe your drive. You can either choose the quick or full reformat, might as well do quick.

Ahhh I see. The last time I did it was years ago and it was using MS DOS and I can't remember how to do it that way. I'll give that one a go! Ta
