Good question Mark because I know of two vulnerable people who want the jab but who are wary about what the conditions might be where it's being administered - something they haven't been told yet. Hospitals are probably OK but I have read that the army are building 'camps' where vaccinations will take place.

^^ well it took place in the hospital and our hospital is always very clean.
I didn't have any concerns about the safety of the hospital.
It was absolutely fine, the whole thing.
And yes it was organised.

^ I'd expect hospitals to be clean and well organised, but it's these other venues which could be a concern for vulnerable people.

^ some people have had their vaccinations at the Yorkshire Showground and apparently it was very well organised and safe there too.

In the areas where you had to wait, did you feel there was a safe amount of space around you? And how much time did you generally spend around other people?

I thought there was a safe amount of space between me and other people. I spent about 10 minutes in a queue in the corridor with other people. Everyone practiced social distancing in the queue
You then waited in another area for the staff to register you in and to make a future appointment.
That took about 7 or 8 minutes and other patients were around but not especially near to me.
Everyone wore masks.
That's all I can remember really.
But I'm sure it'll all be ok and I haven't got any side effects so far.

Not going to post any links yet as it's still a bit early to publish - but it looks like we're starting to see the effect of vaccinations filter into case numbers. Fingers crossed the trend becomes stronger over the next week or so.

I forgot to say that they gave me a vaccination certificate with my name, the date of the vaccination and the type of vaccine given, and the batch number,
- there's a space for them to fill in the date of the 2nd one.
(They said to keep this certificate safe)
My arm is a bit sore but I haven't got any other side effects, I haven't got a headache or any of the things which people sometimes predict.
However the nurse did suggest I should take paracetamol on a regular basis for 24 hours or 48 hours.
I always wake up very early, and as far as I can see today looks much the same as most days do (in lockdown).

Wow! A woman just turned up at my door unannounced, held a syringe in front of me and asked if I wanted the covid vaccine! I didn't catch where she said she was from but I just said I didn't want it, to which she replied "Are you sure you don't want it?", so I politely assured her that I didn't, and off she went. Anyway I thought that we were supposed to get a letter or a phone call first, not cold-callers.

That's very strange! I'm sure someone who was officially registered to do vaccinations would never turn up at your door asking if you wanted to have the jab.
You are supposed to get a letter or an email or a phone call, cold callers are not acceptable people to do vaccinations.
You were right to send her away.
There are people around who can't be trusted, it looks as if you've encountered one of them!

That sounds really dodgy. It's worth reporting this incident to the police. I've heard of scams where people are phoned about vaccinations but not door to door. Someone less switched on might have taken her up on the offer.
