obviously!! ugh 4 b's don't know if i'd be too keen on that, I have to get about 360 points (it changes due to supply and demand so I don't know the exact number) so I do 8 subjects and get points for each grade i get, 100 for A1 85 for B1 etc and i take my best 6 grades and work out the points. its pretty cool cos if i was to get BBBB thats the same as 320 points but i could get 2 A1s and 2 C3s and get the same points. its really not as confusing as it sounds!
what course do u want to do? x(",)x

The problem with my school is they didn;t seem to encourage you to leave after 5th year.
I got AAABB. More than enough for the majority of Uni courses in Scotland and England. But I was never encouraged to make an Application, even though my prelim (mock) results were AAAAB. Instead I just went on to 6th year and picked courses related to what I was generall good at/interested in.
6th year can be good if you don't know what you want to do, but at the same time, schools should make clear all the options.
The 5th year was never told in full about the UCAS service. Only when we got into 6th year did we get sessions devoted to it.... poor show if you ask me....

Also, because you leave a year earlier in Scotland, you might want to take Adv Highers or a gap year if you're going to an English (or Welsh!) uni, so that you're the same age as everyone else in your year. Not always the case though...

Yeah we're more or less the same, they take into account stronger and relevant subjects as well of course. The only difference in the eduation systems is what each level (Leaving cert, A level, higher etc) is worth points wise. That's it really.

Well, even after leaving 6th year in scotland, because of the way our age thing works in school, a lot of people are only 17 at uni! So people often take a gap year after 6th year as well! I was only just 18 when i went.

Hopefully something to do with human geography although sociology sounds quite good as well. Still not decided 100%

the irish colleges award 150 points to an A a level and take your best 4 as far as I know.
I think BBBB is much harder in that you have to be above average at all subjects whereas I can level out my strengths and weaknesses x(",)x

My choices had to be in on October 15th of my final year at school! English unis still generally work on the basis of grade offers - almost always a three grade offer.

Got my results and I'm pretty disappointed with them to say the least.
Business Management - A
French - B
Geography - B
English - B
Maths- B
Happy with the Maths result because it's my weakest subject, but French and Geography are really disappointing...
In Higher, the grades are A,B,C,D,F
70% or more is an A
60%-69% is a B
50%-59% is a C
40-49% is a D (close fail)
It should get me into university though quite easily but I'm still pretty gutted that I didn't do much better,

Don't be too upset mate, they are pretty good results. Can't be disappointed with and A and straight B's IMO. No trouble getting into Uni.
