Quote

pulling this thread forward again - lol how many topics are we possibly going to get out of that original nadal thread?? - what are your favourite song lyrics of all time - just one or two lines, a verse or a chorus or something which you think is particularly brilliant or has particular poignancy and significance?

yes definitly too many topics from that thread!  goodjob
well.. when it comes to lyrics it's really hard, depends what mood you're in!

I love songs where the lyrics are really random.. so i suppose this sort of makes it as random as you can get (Franz Ferdinand)

Quote
Because you kissed St Rollox Adieu
Because you robbed a supermarket or two
Well, who gives a damn about the profits of Tesco?

Did I see you in a limousine
Flinging out the fish and the unleavened

and these lyrics remind me of what you feel while playing tennis. yea random Very Happy(Gavin Rossdale)

Quote

Adrenaline keeps me in the game
Adrenaline you don't even feel the pain
Wilder than your wildest dreams
When you're going to extremes
Get closer to the thrill
Only time will kill
What's in your eyes
Is so alive

Smooth Criminal- Michael Jackson

All of MJ's songs get you going. I think he's strange and the court things will always be his main 'claim to fame' but that guy is an unbelievable showman and his dancing is exceptional

oooo, on the topic of random lyrics.. how could i forget elliott smith!  notworthy

Quote
The imitation picks you up like a habit
Riding in the glow of the tv static
Taking out the trash to the man
Give the people something they understand

Mistake a nervous flash for a fine-line smile
Junk bond trader trying to sell a sucker a stock
Rich man in a poor man's clothes
The permanent installment of the daily dose

And you tell me, fool, you tell it like it is
Your wall's gone wider than your head trip is
Checking into a small reality
Void as a drug you take too regularly

The apple needs to laugh; the broken crutch
The first two folded at the slightest touch
Brought down like an old hotel
People digging through the rubble for things they can resell

the man's a genius! and i love that song ^^!!!  \Very Happy/

yey the llama song!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

if im in an emo kind of a mood, its gotta be beautiful disaster - kelly clarkson i am the worlds biggest sucker for a tortured hero....

He drowns in his dreams
An exquisite extreme I know
He's as damned as he seems
More Heaven than a heart could hold

And if I tried to save him
My whole world could cave in
Just ain't right
Just ain't right

Oh and I don't know
I don't know what he's after
But he's so beautiful
Such a beautiful disaster
If I could hold on
Through the tears and the laughter
Would it be beautiful
Or just a beautiful disaster

He's magic and myth
As strong as what I believe
A tragedy with
More damage than a soul should see
And do I try to change him
So hard not to blame him
Hold on tight
Hold on tight

He's soft to the touch
But frayed at the ends he breaks
He's never enough
And still he's more than I can take

there are more lyrics i love, but i'll try and post them at intervals intsead of one massive post!!

These are the best lyrics in the world!! Its a serbian song:

Tamo, ljubavi, gdje zvone zvona
ti ćeš zauv’jek bit’ samo moja,
tamo gdje i r’jeka ljubi more
do zore.
Zauvjek.

Tamo visoko za brda ona,
tamo gdje je stara kuća moja,
tamo ću sa tobom, željo moja
ostati … zauvjek

Ti si mi dušu ranila,
ljepotom me opila.

i english it translates as:

I'll reach for you
across the rocky mountains,
take you to my old stone house
and the sounds of bells
will rise above us
and will meet the sky.
They'll never die.

And the sun will shed its golden fire,
and the sea will become
an endless pyre,
and the mighty voice of angels' choir
will be blessing you and me,
Eternally.

As the time will pass
I will love you more-
the one I'll be living for.

Its such a lovely song!!!!!!!!!!

This should be in films, but just how great is Johnny Depp?

What's Eating Gilbert Grape? (with a fabulous performance by Leo DeCaprio), plus Benny and Joon and Edward Scissorhands are just wonderful.

I cant think of any other actor who can effortlessly do these roles, and then a great blockbuster like Pirates Of The Caribbean
