..Korolev (who has obscene stats) somehow managed to beat him...
Clearly there are some serious flaws in the programming of this game, Clydey.
I'll get my son right on it.

First match vs. Murray. Beat me 7-5 (I play one set matches until the final of MS events) in the third round.

Full length?
You're playing it like a proper sim. What difficulty do you have it on? You can use the sub level to adjust it if it's too easy or too hard.
I'm currently ranked 15th. Reached the semis of the French, then got straight setted by Nadal; then won Halle; now in the 2nd round of Wimbledon after dismissing Jamie Baker in the opening round.
Right now, I am on Junior (5) which is my level at the moment. Played Tobias Kamke and just barely beat him 6-7 6-4 6-4. Lost my second Futures final, but I seem to be getting wildcards now for Futures, so no more ******* qualifying.
There's a neat option to 'simulate match time' which gives incredible reality as it simulates the time between points to give you a life-like match duration on the scoreboard. You can just tell the people that created or modded this game love tennis.

Played it again tonight having not played it since downloading it, and absolutely hooked now. Now I understand how to place shots, it's so much fun. Bagelled the (insanely poor) computer on the demo. Think it's now time to buy the full game.
Still getting used to volleys though. Just blasted an overhead smash directly sideways into the crowd. Whoops.

Think I'll probably get it too as the demo is quite fun. Is there some way you can use a gamepad with it though? I have the Xbox for windows PC one.

Volleys are tricky. The key is to not push the direction until the last second, otherwise the volley will go wide.
I'm consistently getting to the latter stages of the slams, but as yet no maiden grand slam title. F**king Davydenko put me out in the quarters of the US Open. Was up a break in both sets.
I'm on the difficulty level Junior, sublevel 8.

Yes. Use Xpadder.
You can map the keys to buttons on the gamepad.

Cool, thanks. Too difficult to play for a long time with the keyboard.
In anticipation of tomorrow's purchase, do any of you lot have a PS3 and fancy a game of FIFA 13 sometime soon?
Have also ordered Grand Slam Tennis 2 (amongst a few other games). I know you guys said Top Spin 4 was better but an NZ online store had a massive sale on and GST2 was ridiculously cheap - $23NZ or about 11 pounds. And I can't seem to find TS4 available from any NZ store yet so thought it was worth trying the other one out at that price and still look around for TS4.

You don't need Xpadder mind, but by the looks of it, it's a nifty wee program.
If you can't be arsed downloading Xpadder, you can just plug in the controller and configure it through the menu.

Thanks for the help Clydey. Will try and practice those in the warm-up I think.
Just downloaded the full game this morning. Where can I find the patch in question? Thanks.
Edit: Oh, is it this?
http://www.managames.com/Forum/topic29-6125.php
Genuinely struggling to download this. Click Slow download, wait the 30s, click Click Here to Download, at which point I get taken back to the previous page.

You'll be waiting a while. Very slow connection to the site when I downloaded it, so I had to wait 8 hours!
That is the correct patch, though, yes.
http://www.slingfile.com/file/rZ2VJY1rO6
Then wait 30 seconds, then hit download, or something along those lines.
