Getting to know you - one and all!

I think this English person will adopt it - it's lovely - like most things Scottish.
"Drumly" is another good one to add to your vocabulary.  It means gloomy in a troubled way, but you don't hear it used so often.

Love the Gaelic one, Elly. Very Happy

^ I've never heard that one, Aileen!  He he.

Lordy, I text my girlie at T in the Park, and she hasn't responded.  I know I'm probably being a paranoid mother, but I wish she'd just text to say all OK.  I don't want to ring her and cramp here style, but I saw I guy died there.  Eek....

The joys of motherhood.  You'll probably find she's OK, Elly.

As long as she stays off the narcotics, she'll be 'reet.

I'm hoping she has more sense.  I'm thinking the narcotics may have had something to do with the guy's death, but maybe that's just bad minded.

Aye, he'll have either overdosed or perhaps choked on his own vomit - some people wreck their bodies at the festivals.

If she's anything like her dear mother, she's probably getting rode senseless in a tent somewhere. Very Happy

Doesn't say what the man died from, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was drugs-related.

Me too, Aileen, but then I think it's not fair to jump to conclusions.  I sent another text, and still have no response.  I'm thinking her phone may have lost battery power.  I'm sure I would have heard if there was something wrong.

Hope you've heard from her by now.  I imagine she was with friends who would certainly have been in touch had anything been amiss.

Guess we all tend to jump to the wrong conclusions about these sort of events.  The man could have died from naural causes for all we know.  Sadly, it does happen.

I guess it has a similar meaning to the word kerfuffle.  It's like a clash or a disturbance.

I think my all time favourite Scottish Gaelic word is the one for kisses....  'smoorachs'  tender
I'll go for that one too!

It's 75F here this morning and I have been standing, up to my knees, in the Lavender hedge which is in bloom (heavenly perfume) deadheading heavily scented roses which are climbing all over the bothy .... what a lovely way to spend the morning ...
