We had a great weekend with friends. The conversation got round to Scottish words as per previous postings. To those who know what a fankle means, try to describe it without using your hands, we tried it and ended up in hysterics.

I did some research into getting tonsils removed and doctors seem to think that after a while you can get just as many throat infection as when you had tonsils, so isn't always worth it

Hmmmmm, suppose its worth a try though. I'm at the point of tears everytime I get it coz its so painful. Feels like I've got glass stuck in my throat. I'll have to see what the doc says. Unless maybe I should try taking vitamin tablets to umph my immune system.

Sounds nasty - though i reckon you could have it worse if you're able to be in work and thinking of going to manchester Every time i had it i was ill with fever for 2 weeks, about 10 days of which i literally couldn't stand up i was so ill and was completely bedridden i'm always paranoid it's happening again when i feel slightly ill lol hope you feel a million times better soon though and the doc can give you some antibiotics

Work isn't too strenuous coz I hardly move. Except to the air con and back to switch off when I'm too warm then too cold. I'm actually worried about going Manchester because I might not be able to eat the food I want. Hopefully if I get pills today it might be gone by then. Last time I had it I went home on a half day and went straight to bed, well .... my mum picked me up and went Maccies for lunch, then home to bed, then awake at 8pm for my tea then back to sleep for the rest of the night. At least being ill doesn't mess with my appetite Even if it is painful to eat.

Amy - you could try eating a little more fruit and veg, etc. - boost your immune system that way?! Although....for all I know you could eat a lot of it already

'Oor Wullie' by any chance?.... It may well be, he comes away with a whole range of Scots words, he probably has the Scots Dictionary for bedtime reading!

Even then its not much. I was thinking about trying to boost my immune system coz its goosed as it is.
