Medical Talk - Are you ill at the moment?

Quote

Me neither. I mean for me, it's a bit different. I have to pay a co-pay for each visit so I really try to not go until it's completely necessary. However, I know people who consult message boards for medical stuff and then all of a sudden start wondering, "Hey, do I do that?" "Do I have that?" Like really, go see a doctor. No one can diagnose you over the Internet.
Stands to reason that if you look up a list of symptoms, and have no medical qualifications, you're ripe for coming up with 2+2=5, especially if you're neurotic about your health.  Probably now that I'm getting on in years (according to the medical profession once you reach 65 you're regarded as being over the hill lol) and also have Type 2 diabetes, I do pay a bit more attention to my health.

Yeah the internet is bad, put in your symptoms and the cause is either cancer or AIDS lol

Woke up with a sore throat this morning. F**k.
Reckon you're getting a cold?  Or do you have this type of problem anyway?

Honey mixed in a little water can be soothing.

We've been having some sort of virus going around my tennis team. I have no idea if that's it. It's supposed to start as a cold/fever and then progress into the stomach bug.

I'm having honey in tea right now actually. Very Happy

I was in close contact with all of them before they got sick enough to be sent home. Hopefully, I can fight through this because I can't miss our match on Monday.

Why can't you miss your match on Monday?  No point pushing yourself if you're ill and making matters worse.  As Hazel says, self first, tennis second.

Because if we've lost about 4 of our players to this illness and if we miss someone else, we have no alternates on our roster left and we have to forfeit the match.

I'm sure you'll change your mind when you're clamped to the porcelain throne.

You've got to admire his thinking. Very Happy

Being optimistic, maybe the opposition might be struck down with the same virus ...

Highly doubtful. I'll just toughen it out. I don't think I have a match Tuesday or Wednesday so I can recover then.
