^ I will. I need to go to the doc soon, so I'll mention it then.

I'd not have thought NZ would have been a place you had to pay to see a Doctor. I don't know why. I guess Canada comes next to the UK in terms of their Health Service.
Yes, I'm quite a 'moley' person , but this thing on my side is new, and I'm keeping my eye out for any change in shape or colour.
Yep, about $30-$45 per visit. They have MoleMap centres here - you don't need a referal from the doctor and that costs you about $200 for a body scan.

Okay saw doctor today again. I've now had my dosage of gabapentin increased to try and reduce the pain levels, so now on 1800mg of it a day. Also been given sleeping tablets to try and get me back into a routine of sleep. Physio is trying to help me improve my endurance for doing things inspite of the pain...basically I think we're settling in for long term pain treatment that I just have to live with by the sounds of it
If we can get me actually able to function in a manner approaching normal
Also need more blood tests because my doctor thought I looked like shit
and I've lost 3/4 of a stone
Also got an orthopaedics appointment on the 30th Sept, but don't expect much from it as my doc doesn't see me needing surgery so the consultants level of interest will be low
Okay moan about how awful my life is, is over

Didn't Rafa play him in the first round?
You seem to have been through a lot recently with health stuf.
3/4 of a stone is a hell of a lot, clothes feel a bit more roomy?

Let's both get drunk and mourn our broken bodies.

Don't usually follow this thread so hadn't realised you were having medical problems George. Hope you manage to get them sorted. I'd wondered why you'd been rather quiet recently (until last few days!)

It's more with all the medication
I think a car comes under the title of heavy machinery
How many Tramadol are you on? They do make you pretty drowsy.

Drowsy I wish! tbh I don't feel the affect really after a few days once my body has got used to them. I'm maxed out (sorry for anyone coming on later and finding me chatting about my medication over about 3 threads
) 400mg tramadol, 1g naproxen, 1800mg gabapentin daily

I was on them for a while and they made me very drowsy. I would either get a nice high or feel sleepy.

The affect of them is really wearing off now, not helping much, but since my body doesn't like codeine then there's nothing else in that band for me to take
The fact that worries me is that I'm still in pain despite it all
Sorry Mark we've completely nicked your thread

How long has this been a problem for you?
I've just had to get used to living with a certain amount of pain.

Since this 'flare up' began
I'm used to my back being tense usually and to having occasional pain in my arms after heavy lifting, sitting for a long time or getting cold, but this is constant draining pain. I'd say it was achy but it's also a sharp stabbing element too
the joys of me!
If it was just a little bit of pain it would be fine, I'd cope, but this is quite sore with all the meds...so I hate to think what I'd be like without them
