hehe John and neworn...
same with me - i think they killers probably have the most sucessful album of this year, and i've played it soooo many times aswell! Brandon (lead singer) just has the most amazing voice, i lurve it!  Very Happy
people are starting to compare james blunt's sucess with the killers?!  Rolling Eyes i dunno i don't like james blunt that much, his 'high' song freaked me out a bit the with all that female internation!
*not to offend any blunt fans*...i like his music just not his voice that much

Re James Blunt... that's precisely what I feel. People kept going on at me to listen to You're Beautiful, so after a while I did. I immediately decided I didn't like his voice, but his lyrics and music are good enough that you don't notice after a bit.

I have his album and I've played that a lot too... not quite as much as The Killers though! wink

haha, at times i even sing along to some of james' songs since our voices are a bit alike....i mean when im talking about the pitch of voices!  wink
i still haven't decided to buy blunt's album - but ive got a couple of tracks...and i've decided never to listen to you're beautiful again - it's just gets you too hooked!  Rolling Eyes

anyway...seems this thread has turned into a music chat thread?! maybe Mark should rename it to the 'Music Thread' because obviously nadal isn't getting the same amount of attention!  Very Happy
i dunno if i can rename a thread since i made it!? i'll see!

haha one of the hardest questions ive been asked  Rolling Eyes
i have these 'obbsessions' with one song for a while...and i listen to it so many times, until it's just something that brain recognises in 1 second of playing and it just becomes a musical peice that you have no interest in...then like after one hour you find the another song like that, then you're hooked for another week on that....  Rolling Eyes

i'll never get tierd of The Smith's voices....absolute legends! one of my favorite songs from them: 'the last of the international playboys' (you'll probably listen to it and think WTF?! ...but i suppose you gotta be a huge fan to understand the gist...!)

i loved Oh My God by the Kaiser Chiefs (also fantastic band!!) ...
what's your fav song?!  Very Happy

ditto - impossible question!

at the moment i love ben folds - landed (possibly becuase they played it over andys highlights as he got knocked out at wimbledon and of course its a great song!)

you cant go wrong with beatles long and winding road

my modern favs are sarah mclachlan - 'full of grace' and 'angel', snow patrol 'run' (ooo im so emo baby) anything anthemic by the phonics and the whole of Damien rice's 'O' album.

oooohhh...you just reminded me...maybe tomoro by the stereophincs!  hearts i was totally in love with that song for about a year!! (must lisetn to it again)

haha we are all so very emo as Laura says!! ...and 'run' ahhh one of the other all times greats!! nice to meet all these people with similar music tastes - unlike at my school where it's all god dam rap and crap!  Frown

rap is evil (although occassionally eminem can pull off a great hit - lose yourself and mosh for instance)
i cannot stand dance music or processed rnb - where are the words??? the meaning??? the TUNE>???

cheese on the other hand is good stuff - all the golden oldies summer of 69, living on a prayer, sweet child of mine, bohemian rhapsody, you know the score !

'run' is indeed an all time classic. i was at the tsunami gig in the millennium stadium and when they started playing that it was just the BEST thing ever.....they didnt even have to sing - the crowd completely took over. magic.

OK... James Blunt again. You must listen to "Cry", this is possibly the best song on the album. Far better than You're Beautiful or High.

Snow Patrol... Run is my absolute favourite Snow Patrol track.

As for favourite song ever... impossible to answer. I don't have just one that fits that. Rolling Eyes

Any of you folks into Elliott Smith at all?

Edits: I don't really like rap much... some Eminem, but that's about it. And as for the Stereophonics (sorry Julia Think) I despise them.

recent stereophonics is better, middle stuff goes off a little- but its the early stuff that was classic in my opinion (and the manics too! - being a welsh girl, i grew up with them!)

and they too are great live - saw them in the millennium stadium too- gotta go there to come back tour - fablous stuff! (and kelly on his own at the tsunami gig - hes very small but very sexy)

Ah, now you're talking. Manics I like. Smile

So far I have "This Is My Truth, Tell Me Yours", one of there more recent albums. It is superb, but it's not really the same band that they started as.

I also have a bootleg collection known as "Making Rebellion Into Money" (I think that's it) which is good. I've heard a fair bit of their early stuff, but I haven't heard them between 1993 and 1998. :?

Back to Stereophonics, I'll agree their early stuff was good, but I can't stand them now. Literally, I turn off the radio when they come on. Rolling Eyes

I'm going to see a fairly obscure (but good) band by the name of Mohair on wednesday, with support from a band called "The Mexicolas". I was playing some Mexicolas stuff to my brother (he of Smiths fanhood), and he said, "they sound a bit like the Stereophonics... when they used to be good". wink
