I'm a bit late on the scene, but I agree with you.  Too much medical terminology as well.

As a regular listener at night to the BBC's World Service, which has gone into this outbreak at some length, it's becoming very clear that they may never be able to establish the precise source of this virus, which goes some way to validating @boogers' two earlier posts,
