I'm in a really good place right now where I just don't care so yeah, I'm basically doing it for the experience yes

Join the club, I hate doing something for the first time, always scared of messing up or looking daft yes However, coffee is nice and straight forward...just don't spill the coffee all over yourself Wink

This is definitely the problem for guys.  Mostly, they have never learned the art of small talk - makes it difficult for them to get the ball rolling.  I do feel sorry for them when it is that way, but I'm a first class chatter who can talk without saying anything ... I'm also very sympatico ...

Well just make sure you have a couple of topics tucked away in the back of your head for if conversation lags...anyway 20minutes ish isn't exactly long, you both need two topics each and there you have it Smile Less than that if it includes hi's and bye's yes

I look at people like you in amazement, being able to small-talk really well just seems like such an intelligent skill to me... almost like rapping, constantly having to think ahead.

I can be coding the next Facebook and be relaxed but when it comes to thinking of something to create conversation, my head will literally raise in temperature as if it's over heating.

I think small talk is something that comes with practise ... but, I do think gals are better at it than guys.  I know my sweetie gives the impression of being shy, but in fact he's just accustomed to letting me go in to bat and then he doesn't have to make the effort!!  But, you must have some indication of her interests (from the source of your intro) and it might be worthwhile devoting a moment or two to coming up with some interesting lead-ins, no?  Also, you really haven't had a lot of practise as you were in such a long term relationship - you're just developing your Romantic Resume as we speak ... awh shucks (said the Llama) ...Smile
