Mark, I insulted you on Facebook. One of the questions asked me if I think you have a bad haircut. I said "yes".
I'd never do that to Charlie, though. If Facebook asked me that question about him, I'd say that he has the bestest haircut ever.
Hopefully this post is suitably random enough to bring you two together again.

I was saying that having a potential new member see a joke insult about a random celeb is no where near as bad as them witnessing people laying down abuse at Andy Murray. The former won't turn off a potential new member, the latter most certainly will.
Oddly enough, it was stinging criticism of Andy that first attracted me to this site over AM.com. It was just after he'd lost to Ancic in Miami last year, having held a match point on his own serve only to double fault. Serious question marks over his direction and the relatively new backroom team at the time. Don't think there were offensive names being directed at him, but there was certainly negativity. To be fair, this forum is full of praise when he's doing well. I like that - reflects the feelings of the diehard fans, which we are despite appearances in situations like today! We'll all be here come the O2 and indeed some of us are actually going to the event!

People are free to insult celebrities as they are not members and will not read this forum. And don't bother trying to now bring in my alleged insults to other members, I rarely have done that. I'm generally very polite in heated debates.
There was that time we were having an argument and you told me to go **** my mother.

I don't think many of your opinions are controversial I'm afraid - although your opinions about women are boorish and unpleasant, but that isn't the same thing by a long way.
Then go ahead and find where I have thrown harsh insults at other members... I've been here years so I don't deny I have had moments of weakness but the way you are going on about it is as if I've done this fairly regularly.

I agree with that - I was attracted to MW for the same reason. My general concern is that the trend in negativity and aggressiveness towards Andy/Members/Celebs etc has gone too far recently. I'm giving Mark such a hard time about it beause
he's
the mod and head honcho - he decides what goes and sets the tone more than anyone else.

I'm concerned how newbies will see this... I want to make it clear to everyone: I'm an incredible supporter of equality and when women are treated badly just because they are women then it truly upsets me, it majorly pisses me off, I mean that. I'm basically a feminist but I probably cannot receive that label because I like glamour models and love hot girls.
All my harsh comments that have applied to women, would apply to men if the scenario allowed it.
Right, got that off my chest.

You are right, I don't enjoy being negative myself, though I just can't help it when faced with disappointment. I'm the same at a live football match. At what point do you draw the line though and say that enough is enough? Is negativity without resorting to insult enough, or do you go the whole way and censor negativity in general?

I think you are confusing "insult" with "statement of fact" old boy - easy mistake to make under the circumstances...

Oddly enough, had a haircut today and it does look pretty darn fine, especially alongside my awesome

And think any girl who's ribs don't stick out is unhealthily overweight and unattractive...
