I just posted about how I'm a feminist and all that stuff and you replied, "Great defence of your opinions about women BTW. You may have to delete a fair few posts and some entire threads if you want to convince anyone of that argument."
I'm naturally taking that as you disagreeing with the points I made earlier in regards to women and how I feel about them.
I was sarcastically pointing out that this post:

I'm concerned how newbies will see this... I want to make it clear to everyone: I'm an incredible supporter of equality and when women are treated badly just because they are women then it truly upsets me, it majorly pisses me off, I mean that. I'm basically a feminist but I probably cannot receive that label because I like glamour models and love hot girls.
All my harsh comments that have applied to women, would apply to men if the scenario allowed it.
Right, got that off my chest.
is a very strange and, in my opinion, pretty unconvincing attempt to rebutt my point about your opinions being boorish and unpleasant, and the specific example I gave of your opinions, vociferously voiced, about what makes women attractive.

I made that post because I felt that some people may interpret it as you saying I had sexist views. I'm not saying you actually said that but I'm worried some people may read it and think that is what you were getting at.
So that's why I made a post to make sure that it was clear that is not the kind of person I am. Sure my threshold for women being attractive may not be the same threshold as others but that is simply something I'm born with, not a choice.

I can't emphasise enough how strongly I hate sexism and support equality for women and race.
So you'll have to forgive me but I'm digging in on this one because I've been offended by some of the accusations Charlie has thrown my way because they go against everything I believe in.
Where did race come into it?
Mark - we really will have to agree to disagree on this. You describe yourself as a feminist and committed to equality. I personally find it hard to equate that with your opinions, in your own words, about women and your enthusiasm for the adult entertainment industry, which you have also been vocal about on this site
I simply don't know how the two go together...
I'm not suggesting that that means you are mean to women in the workplace, although if this site is anything to go by you probably think nothing about making lewd and offensive comments behind their backs.

Whether supporting the adult industry means you do not respect women is a whole different debate on its own, there's no point bringing me into that. Men and women do it and enjoy it and some men and women don't enjoy it.
Like I said, I challenge you to find me a post where I have said something that was genuinely sexist or against equality of women, I think you'll have a very hard time doing that.
So please do not make accusations if you can't back them up, it's essentially slander.

Could we please have an "arguments" site so those of of us who arent interested in the views of other posters other than their views on Andy and tennis can be spared this annoying waffle.

Mark - you and I fundamentally disagree about what would be a sexist comment, otherwise we wouldn't be having this conversation
However - I
did not
call you sexist, I called you boorish and unpleasant. You decided to defend the former charge off your own back.
And don't accuse me of slander - that's idiotic in this context, and particularly ridiculous coming from someone who, as I said earlier, has in the past accused me of homophobia and being a bad parent simply because I asked you to remove animated avatars with sexual content.

Did you not read my posts? I appreciate that at first you didn't call me sexist but I was still concerned some people might interpret your comments as such. Therefore, just for my protection, I tried to make clear I'm not that type of person. But once I had posted that, you then replied saying my posts about women would need to be removed for that to be convincing. Therefore, I take that as you basically saying I've said sexist things hence why we are still talking about it now.

Oh would you stop bringing up the whole bad parent thing? It's pathetic.
Firstly the conversatin was over PM so that certainly cannot be considered slander and secondly, PLEASE post up our private conversation so your stupid "bad parent" comment can be put in context.

I simply do not understand your logic. This whole thread started because of a conversation about posts that might be insulting to members, on which
you
said that we should try to avoid insults that might cause offence. How is that entire post above not a gross insult, Mark? You belittle any offence I might have felt at your derogatory, albeit private, comments. Isn't that insulting? What definition are you working to?

Because you are unfairly using that comment against me to try and back up your accusations but people on this forum are unable to judge for themselves whether my comment was an insult because it was a private conversation. I can't remember this whole "bad parent" thing very well but I don't remember ever insulting you or trying to cause you offence, we've always been on very good terms until today.
In regards to what happened in the match thread, I wasn't trying to be all high and mighty, I simply had a rare moment of compassion for Daisy. I saw that she was politely making a point and then she suddenly got told to "f**k off" and this came after she was previously told to "shut up" a few posts earlier. After discussion on the matter, we now
all
know that it was a joke but before it was clarified, Allan and I, and probably others, didn't know whether it was a joke. At the time I felt Daisy wouldn't take it as a 100% innocent joke, which is understandable given the circumstances surrounding the post, which is why I wanted to try and prevent any further harsh insults going her way.
Sue me for doing what moderator should do. Sure, we are very lenient on this forum and often ignore some rule breaking but please don't lash out when we do actually try and interveen to prevent someone getting hurt.
