Interesting that he's falling over himself apologising for his tweets saying that he should have chosen his words more carefully.  Perhaps he should have done but his basic opinions seem quite clear to me.

I've just heard from a friend who lives in Edinburgh that he intends to vote SNP in the constituency vote and Alba in the list vote because he claims that if Alba get enough votes they could wipe out the Tories, Labour and the Lib Dems in Scotland completely.  Can somebody confirm if this is true or not?

Well they are gaming the system with the aim of ending up with a pro-indy majority that is way out of proportion to actual levels of support for the parties. They won't wipe the others out, but a high Alba vote would damage the unionists representation seriously.

Nicola Sturgeon has proved she is a good leader for the SNP. She does not need Alex Salmond she has proved her leadership and in no way does she need him. The greens have a good record and have been good supporters of the SNP in forming a government.

I will vote SNP and give my second vote to the greens, however, many Salmond supporters may vote for Alba in the list vote if they do it could Finnish the Tories which I would be very happy with.

It'll be absolutely hilarious if the SNP are dependent on Alba to form a majority!

The Greens could be in a strong position if they hold on to seats  and the SNP don't win outright. Sturgeon will surely concede nearly anything to avoid relying on Alba!

Excellent performance by Sarwar tonight.

edit: amused by how many audience members were unimpressed by the continual bleating about independence given there's a pandemic going on.

The greens always vote with the SNP anyway. Then again the SNP could have an outright majority. That might spoil all you anti-SNP Voters.

^ Thanks boogers, but we can all read so no need to post this in screaming text - but I guess you can't help it.

Anyway these attacks on Sturgeon by the Tory media are getting a little tedious particularly as she isn't the first and won't be the last politician to have broken a vow.

Good to hear you are rejecting Alba LB. I hope unionist voters will similarly not give their list vote to George Galloway's All4unity group.

Has this crossed anyone else’s mind?  Was Alex Salmond hoping that Nichola Sturgeon would be forced to resign  so that he could get his old job back further down the line?  It didn’t happen and this is plan B.

Good thinking waverlybear, sounds plausible

The only folks that raise the issue of Indy continually are the Unionist Parties - I would much rather (even as an Indy Supporter) hear their proposed policies - the only thing they bang on about is No to Indy !!!
Sarwar did perform well but I think he has a high level of hypocrisy standing up as a 'socialist' when his family firm refuses to pay the minimum wage and he makes a massive profit from it.  Not really the values of a Socialist !!!!

Sturgeon literally talked about independence in her opening statement.

Also you're confusing the minimum wage with the living wage.

Other than that, good post. Lots of value. Excellent effort.
