Oh do shut up you really are stupid I gave you the address it is a new government office in Edinburgh opened by the tory government. Michael Gove has been in charge it has been opened to remove some of the powers that the devolved parliament in Scotland.

If you don't understand you really must be thick or just don't want to accept it is being run by the secretary of state for Scotland. I really don't care if you believe me or not. CHECK IT FOR YOURSELF.

Right, so you can't actually cite any evidence for this absolutely mentalist conspiracy theory. Thought as much.

So the votes are in and... nothing much changed. It's actually pretty remarkable to think that the makeup of the Scottish government is damn near identical to 2016, which was before the EU referendum.

According to John Curtice, 51% voted for unionist parties in the constituency vote, and 51% for indy parties in the list vote.

Basically a tie in that respect then, and not really indicative of the sort of momentum for separation that the indy crowd had hoped for.

I hadn't thought of that, but you're right.  So much for the Remainers who are unhappy that we left the EU - but then maybe the delusional carrot that if we became independent we would get immediate re-entry to it attracted a considerable number of Remain voters.

Thanks for that because I didn't hear the Marr interview.

I would beg to differ - quite a lot changed
SNP won the highest amount of votes in a Scottish Parliament Election ever
They won the highest amount of constituencies ever in a Scottish parliament Election
The only party to gain seats and increase their vote share
The Greens passed the Lib Dem’s to become the 4th party - the Lib Dem’s now lose some parliamentary privileges as their MSP numbers have dropped below 5.
Increased voter numbers across the country.
The first woman of colour elected as an MSP
A lot of increased majorities in incumbent areas

I suppose it all depends if your glass is half full or half empty !!!

That list kind of reinforces the argument that little has changed. The glass still is still 50% liquid capacity.

I had to look that one up because I hadn't come across it before, and I agree.  He certainly didn't impress me but I couldn't think of a word to describe him although nasty and smart-ass did come to mind!

I skipped over much of it as well, but wanted to hear the Marr interview in order to see what all the fuss was about.

Informative article about the proposed IndyRef -

Good article. As it sets out, I think the UK governments approach to a referendum has become clear this week.

First, they'll let the SNP table and pass a bill in the Scottish parliament. They'll then wait for a Scottish citizen to take the government to the supreme court (there are loads of unionists lining up to do this). The SC will almost certainly find against the Scottish government and the whole thing will scream to a halt.

What happens after that is the interesting question...
