Looks like this is a well-established prerogative. "La Reine le veult", and all that!

Indeed! I didn't realise that this has been going on for decades - and probably longer.

Don't hold your breath waiting for this to alter the SNPs pro-monarchist stance though!

This would be funny if it weren't so pathetic - and also I see that Johnson was too much of a coward to meet Sturgeon at Bute House to discuss the pandemic. "Boris Johnson offers role to Nicola Sturgeon in COP26" Boris Johnson has said the First Minister will play a “huge role” at the UN climate summit in Glasgow, despite once declaring he didn’t “want to see Nicola Sturgeon anywhere near it”. https://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/boris-johnson-offers-role-to-nicola-sturgeon-in-cop26-3335166

I see Boris came to Scotland on a supposed flying visit but refused a visit to our First Minister who had asked to see him. However he was not too busy to go up to Shetland to inspect a new large oilfield that is to come on stream.
I bet he can't wait to squander all the money that the UK government will get from it. Just another reason for Scottish Independence because he will waste the money on projects down south as per usual.
I should have know the reason for his visit as he always avoids coming to Scotland as he knows he is not welcome here and avoids coming to Scotland like the plague.
Wonder when he will venture to visit again.

^ He'll have to come for the climate change summit in Glasgow which is the first two weeks of November.

This is the guy who wants the UK to work together. He found time to meet the Scottish branch manager Douglas Ross twice though. That must've been a real meeting of minds.

Heh, not surprised to see the usual suspects falling for Sturgeons transparently political game. Johnson's itinerary was fixed months ago, as she well knows

England actually subsidises Scottish spending. Independence means less money for you to spend.
