The thing is, she's been in the lead all the way but STILL managed to make various botch-ups, u-turns and needless daft populist pledges.
And yet the party continue to support her. It's almost like the Tories are deliberately trying to commit political suicide.

I still prefer Rishi but Liz Truss will probably win.

Sunak is the lesser of two evils as far as I'm concerned. I used to think he was OK but the more I've listened to him the less I've liked him.

I always liked Rishi but when he said "I'm a Thatcherite and I'll govern as a Thatcherite" those words put me off so I've rather gone off him since then! I can't find much to like about Liz Truss.

Neither showing much sign of awareness of the gravity of what they are going to face in no10. Dismal.

For once I agree 100% with Angus Robertson -

Jesus Christ, that's a pile of worthless low-energy garbage even by Robertson's standards.

Boogers, I quite agree.
He does not seem to have a grasp of what is fact and what is interpretation to suit his cause. That is perhaps a commonality with politicians especially those with a very emotional approach?
Personally, I am going to wait to first hear what her plans are for the next two years and then judge consequential successes or failures once action is taken. This is not a popular idea amongst those who continue to dream rather than be objective.

As Joni Mitchell sang “ you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone”
Boris is in many ways a dreadful character but his self-confidence and bluster humour seems to get things done. We now have someone leading the country who will be crucified by the media every time she appears. It has already begun. Truss looks as if she cannot believe she is PM and I can’t believe it either. Sturgeon will annihilate her.

^ This is why I agree with Angus Robertson because the woman's a complete waste of space who'll probably do more to further the cause of independence than Johnson, May and Cameron put together ever could.

I find it hard to imagine
anyone
could further the cause of independence better than Boris bloody Johnson.
There's an awful lot of underestimating of Truss going on here. She's not a great orator, but she's arguably the first ideologically driven PM since Blair.

She won't. They are in different parliamentary chambers for a start. Both running parties who have utterly failed across great swathes of key policy areas for well over a decade. They'll help each other as scare figures.

Jeez MA, I can't believe your are STILL peddling the 'emotional' (everyone who disagrees with me) v 'objective' (me! cos I see things more clearly) stuff.

So the PM, and all great offices of state are occupied by women, or by ethnic minorities.
Regardless of how you feel about the Tories, that's a milestone.

^ Althusser,
Read the printed words carefully next time and not try to shoot the messenger! The electorate does not appoint the PM so the percent quoted is irrelevant as is what percentage of Scotland agrees with the wishes of a majority across the whole country. These ARE statistics that are irrelevant used inappropriately to substantiate an emotional response. Cannot you see that? I can be wrong, as you can, but this time go back to that article and check the logic behind the statements please. I wonder if you are upset that you are wrong or that the truth just does not suit you?
