Hah, a pundit on my Twitter feed nails my feelings about this election:

If the leader of Labour was anybody but a terrorist-sympathizing, Jew-baiting, America-hating, Putin-coddling schmuck -- I'd be overjoyed

Tee hee, Dimbleby saying top Tories like Boris and Phil are refusing to go on BBC. Plotting already? The plot thickens...literally and metaphorically!

Mark: Didn't Trump play the anti-woman card?
People are either sexist or they are not. But I agree, playing to that crowd would have been additional motivation to go out and vote.

I'm still loving the irony of Scotland keeping the Tories in power.

The DUP certainly won't want a hard Brexit.

According to the Gruan, one of their preconditions is that Northern Ireland doesn't get any special treatment. Not quite sure what that'll mean.
edit: ah, they want free and open trade with Ireland. Interesting - that does suggest an EFTA style deal.

Interesting to see the party of 'personal responsibility' at such a moment!

Forming a government with the Irish nutters, which apparently is now settled, wont do the Tories any good at all. Looks like desperation.
Yes, boogers, I too am finding the switch to the Tories in Scotland as very ironic. But Davies ain't no May poodle. I'm interested in what our Scot Nats here are making of all this, but I feel the Scots were just sick of the thought of another referendum and Sturgeon misjudged the mood of the electorate. But, as I said, I'm really interested in MW's Scottish voters' take.

So the result comes out as expected, Torys in minority government with DUP support.

I think this is bang on. There were double digit swings to the Tories and Labour in every single SNP seat. If the greens hadn't stood down, they'd probably have lost another 4 as well. Catastrophic miscalculation by Sturgeon.

The final irony - after attacking Corbyn for terrorist sympathy they do a deal with the DUP #hypocrisyonstilts

I don't think it's at all the same thing as Corbyn's previous association and support for terrorist movements actively engaged in mass murder.
The DUP are thoroughly backwards ideologically, but they're democratically elected and peaceful.

Loads to take from yesterday eh?
Conservative numbers in Scotland - soft. They'll regress as Labour strengthen.
The worst campaign in history, with one of the most hated leaders in years, and yet the Tories came close to that majority again. They're a likeable face away from landslides.
Lib Dems get less of a vote share but more seats - what a strange system we have!
Labour have benefitted from weaker Lib Dems and other left wing parties (Greens) not being an influence, as well as running a good campaign given everything.
No point celebrating the UKIP death - they got their wish.
And the Greens - what's the point in them now?
