The future of British politics

Rishi Sunak is the MP for Richmond (Yorkshire) and he lives in a village just outside Northellerton

I see that the BBC gave Scotland a Question Time programme yesterday. Considering past postings I hope that this went down well?

Heh heh, such a naive woman. Obviously thinks Brexit has actually happened - but we know the truth eh Caz?

Some Scottish News:
Jackson Carlaw has been confirmed as the new leader of the Scottish Conservatives after winning a vote of party members.

Is that good or bad? I just have not seen him mentioned south of the Border other than that he was the likely favourite to take that post.

Oh I don't know about that Al, I thought she was very good! She gave the Beeb a right earful and most of what she said is absolutely true.....don't you think? As far as Brexit is concerned, there are still lots of people who're naive about that, mostly because they were too young or weren't even born when we were told we were 'just joining a common market'! Let's just wait and see what happens next eh!  Wink

I don't vote Tory but Carlaw seems OK to me, although Ruth Davidson is going to be a hard act to follow.

I quote from BBC Scotland - "Mr Carlaw stated he would be in charge of the policies of the Scottish Conservatives, even if they were at odds with the UK party position", so let's hope he does so, and pretty quickly too, otherwise the Tories will be going nowhere come the Scottish elections next year - not that that particularly bothers me!  He's already fallen foul of Nicola though over her comments that it was the Tories who hauled Scotland out of the EU against their will.

^   I think as loyal Unionists they should disband Scottish Conservatives and join a UK Conservative party.

I'm surprised that you say that Caz - you said that the 'deal' to leave the EU was Brexit-in-name-only, so of course Nissan jobs haven't gone yet because on your own account we are still effectively in the EU! And what about our children being conscripted to an EU army - that's still  happening right?

Al......I have done my best to let you know what was happening for years now, and I have never, EVER told you a lie! I have advised you to 'do your own research' and even told you where to look, but have you bothered?  nah I doubt it, so that only leaves you with 2 options Al. Option 1) is do your own research, though time is fast running out for that, as all the good independent media sources are to be 'taken off the internet' very soon now! You'll probably be pleased about that, but perhaps what you should be doing is asking yourself 'Why?' Option 2) is to just carry on as you have been....and 'wait and see what happens'.
As for me, I'm done here! From now on, I won't be telling you anything, so you needn't bother asking me any more questions and if you do, you won't get a response'! As from today, I'll only be here for the tennis, other fun stuff and my friends. However.....I do wish you 'all the best'!

Sorry you don't think you'll be writing on the politics thread any more, it seems a bit of a shame really.
But anyway hope to see you on the tennis threads or on the playground sometimes Smile
