She was fascinatingly strange to the end. Awful PM.

The Tories have lost so much credibility now that I think the only way forward  is to have a GE as soon as possible.

We’ll have to change the joke about the weather to if you don’t like the British Prime Minister… wait a minute!

Why would they call a GE when they would get annihilated? Not gonna happen when that would be stupid for them to do.

^ Yes it would be stupid, but if they stay for another 2 years everyone except the wealthy will be on the streets, homeless and starving.

Looks like Johnson again, jeez

Yeah Johnson again. Guess everyone can just gloss over the fact that the actual Party was about to get rid of him ‍ Shrug

Will the same people that were ready to get rid of him still want rid of him and oust him straight away? Not likely in anywhere near the same numbers. So... he's managed to get around the party ousting and everything he did by just leaving and coming back 2 months later. Even though nothing has changed with him personally at all. Quite an unbelievable feat really.

If anything he now looks better. Not because he has done anything or changed in any way, but just because Liz Truss was so bad he now looks better in comparison to her by being his regular self. Being only badly viewed by the public for things you've done is always good in comparison to being viewed terribly by them.

Any new Tory leader can look great in comparison to Liz so it's less relevant who's chosen from a moral standpoint at this point. It's not exactly like Rishi is clean in the public's eyes either, so they may as well choose who is the more interesting of the 2 and most likely to win a personality pop contest against Starmer... which is much easier for Boris to do than Sunak.

He's done the honrable thing and resigned and now he's back everyone can forgive and forget and move on. Boris should be seen as a hero, a leader, a comeback king!! <-- My guess at the line Tory MPs will be spouting lol.

^ Yes it would be stupid, but if they stay for another 2 years everyone except the wealthy will be on the streets, homeless and starving.
But what politicians want and is good for them >>> what the public want and is good for them

Not just Tory's either. Most politicians are self-serving at the end of the day, like most people are.

Yes well he might be regretting the fact that he hung on until there were so many public resignation letters, which makes life a bit trickier.

However, despite being totally unsuitable for PM (as already proven) he is good at campaigning and the media love covering him. So, he'll definitely be the main talking point over the weekend.

I hate to say it but there is also a certain limited logic in making him leader again. There were calls for a unity candidate, but that's impossible now, too much internal hatred.

And they are split on too many big issues e.g. economy, migration, climate change. Hence the appeal of a candidate who basically has no principles and can potentially be blown in different directions as suits the political moment.
