Didn't like season 2 of Killing Eve really. Season 1 was good. Also think Jodie's acting (along with others) wasn't great in season 2 either, not sure if she will be a major Hollywood actress.
Haven't watch season 2 yet, and have managed to stay away from spoilers and foilers, which is remarkable really given the fact that the BBC can't control itself at all in that regard. Expecting the humour to be very different because the writer is different, but interested to know why you didn't much like it - weaker than season 1? In what ways was the acting not up to standard? - they've got some heavyweight actors in the cast so that does kind of surprise me.

Not seen it yet, good tip, I've heard it praised alot.
Suggestion: watch season 1 in two blocks of three episodes, and season 2 in three blocks of two episodes. Unless you watch it all in one sitting... but whatever you do watch the final two episodes back-to-back.

I didn't even know Waller-Bridge was missing from the writing of series 2 but it's very noticeable that it's different, and perhaps that's why the acting appears so much worse too because the script doesn't feel as authentic. Having done a quick Google search it looks as though I'm not the only one who has had that opinion.

I'll probably watch it in the next couple of weeks or so. Think the writer of S2 wrote some of Drifters a few years ago, but I really struggled to get on with that so I'll admit I'm a little wary of the writing. A friend also said to me that it isn't based on the books anymore, not that I've read the books. Don't know if Waller-Bridge will be back for S3, hasn't she been contracted to make the new James Bond script better or something?

Personally I thought it waned a little at the end of season one, so my expectations weren't super high for season two, especially when i started to hear mixed reviews for it. I thought the actresses carried it well though, despite somewhat lesser quality scripts.

Susanne Hethcoate is on to write and showrun S3. Waller-Bridge is still on Bond.

Thanks for that info. Not seen Heathcote's TV work, but have seen some of her theatre work.
Started watching S2 over the weekend. Not finding the writing quite as sharp as S1 - but I was expecting that - and the cameos from established acting 'names' have been more of a distraction than anything else. But it is still one of the better things on the BBC right now. Notable that the better* drama the BBC have produced lately has been in collaboration with US production companies.
*Not including that god awful drama with Richard Gere** that not even Helen McCory could rescue from itself.
**At what age do 'senior moments' kick in? Couldn't for the life of me remember his name and had to google it!

Thought "Killing Eve" first series was exciting and unpredictable. I'm finding 2 a let down and too samey.
"Follow The Money" was brilliant and really reinvented itself in series 2, but it's hard to do.
The drama I've most enjoyed lately was "The Looming Tower." About 9/11 and a shocking indictment of the US security services, who basically withheld information from each other.

My thoughts: Bit baffled by the various cameos, the Adrian Scarborough character seemed like a parody and not sufficently meanacing, think the cameos were supoosed to work like the Fleabag cameos but PWB wasn’t in charge of the writing so it didn’t work.
Feels to me like the whole ‘I’m going to prove you’re just like me’ thing was plucked from a rather grim ITV crime drama from about 10/15 years ago.
Don’t think the characterisation of Eve was developed much beyond what we saw in S1, and Sandra Oh seems a bit uncomfortable in media interviews about the ‘queer stuff’, to such an extent that in the run up to the BBC broadcast there was a bit of queer-baiting going on, and the BBC is in some hot water where this is concerned*.
Fiona Shaw is absolutely brilliant, but even she can’t make dodgy ‘jokes’ about middle class life sound funny. The wardrobe people are having a ball dressing her though.
Have heard mixed things about the Looming Tower, might give it a go though.
Missed S3 of Follow the Money, and it has fallen off iplayer, so will have to wait for it to appear on Netflix or such like.
* No, BBC, as wonderful as Gentleman Jack is, it does not wipe the slate clean of all your other ****-ups in this regard. Sally Wainwright has probably done enough to redeem herself though.

Fleabag picked up 11 Emmy nominations the other day, Killing Eve 9.
PWB is up for Best Actress in a Comedy Series and Writing, I can easily see her getting the triple (with Best Comedy Series) on the night.
Glad to see Colman, Shaw (nominated for Fleabag and Killing Eve) and Kristin Scott Thomas also get a look in.
Comer and Oh are both up for Best Actress in a Drama Series too.

Getting quite excited for the His Dark Materials TV adaptation, the first series of which is due for broadcast later this year. Looks like it has a strong cast, the casting of the scientist from the second and third books is crucial though. If they get that wrong...
