One again, the message was describing the voting process as anonymous.
I know what you are saying but my English was still correct regardless.
My reference to reading comprehension was not in regard to anything you said recently or in that thread. I mentioned that "era" as being the period of time in question. This thing about anonymous and unanimous is recent and has nothing to do with what I mentioned previously. It is now merely a question of counter-intuitive sentence structure because, while your grammar is certainly solid, telling us that the vote was anonymous, while certainly true at the time of voting, made certain that it was no longer so at the time of the announcement.

I didn't give an intelligent reply because yours was so pathetic it didn't deserve one.

You had a big rant over the most obvious point possible but still decided it was worth mentioning. Obviously if you know someone voted in a poll and everyone voted the same option, then you know who/what that person voted. That's just plain obvious but that point does not mean that the sentence you quoted from the ban message was poor English, because it wasn't, it was perfect English.

Here he comes again...
I'm not saying it was bad english. What I'm saying is that you violated the promised anonymity of the voters by announcing that the vote was unanimous, understand? To be sure, the rhyme makes for a catchy (and grammatically correct) sentence, but it was still a dumb thing to say.
And no, I haven't had a big rant. I mean really, I can't string more than 10 sentences together on a messageboard, as I get bored of nattering.

I've never disputed that point but if that was your only point then why have a rant over English? You basically said that sentence was poor English which is what I'm annoyed at.

What always get's me about that era of this messageboard is how people who have perfect comprehension of the english language could fail so utterly in their reading comprehension...

I'd like to nominate Tommy as a MW legend for his steadfastness. He is always prepared to stand by his political/cultural views even in the face of widespread opposition.

Right, and I qualified that point earlier, but obviously, you weren't paying attention.
My reference to reading comprehension was in regard to the period of time in which, basically, and to put it mildly, everyone went crazy. I'd never seen so many ridiculous arguments in my life. Everything Arka said was taken out of context and misquoted to advance the points of others, when really, had anyone actually read half of the things he said, there would have been no need for an argument at all!

Oh I was paying attention, I simply didn't believe your explanation... it seemed pretty clear you were insulting the English of the quoted text in your original post. If this isn't the case then sorry but at least then admit your intentions were very unclear.

My intentions were very clear to me, and as you are only one person, I don't think I should admit anything.

But that line in the post about it being anonymous is a bit amusing...
