One of the things that the current focus on the Orange Herpes Sore is doing is allowing his atrocious cabinet picks to escape much scrutiny. This is troubling - Rex Tillerson for example
seems completely unsuitable for the job of SoS
.
He hasn't a clue. It's quite chilling, really. What kind of yes man are these people? Trump pays them, and they do what he tells them?

It's a good read in the "this is well written" sense. It's
not
a good read in the "it'll all turn out well" sense.
Mind you, there is one glaring difference between the hate filed orange turdmonster and Putin: Putin is actually smart and calculating. So whilst Trump probably wants to be like Putin, he arguably lacks the mental capacity to achieve this.

Trump is a bad B movie actor. Sadly, lots of people buy into that.

Definitely not. But I can't shake off the notion that Trump IS a calculating bastard in his own way. And so far his bets have paid off.

It'll be interesting to see if the Republicans - a sack of horrible self serving authoritarian shitbags at the best of times - will grow a spine and impeach the rancid orange spittoon.

It's a bell-the-cat scenario is it not? Who would pull the trigger and who would replace him? Pence?

How does impeachment go? What's required?

If and when Trump's figures fall to the polling approval levels of Francois Hollande (5%!!), they may suddenly find some principle, especially as midterms approach

It's a tough one. Trump concerns me for two quite distinct reasons. The first is the domestic impact on my friends in the States, some of could lose out quite significantly. The second is the potential international ramifications. A Pence presidency won't help with the first, but would definitely help with the second.

Somewhat simplified, but practically speaking it requires the President to have done something dodgy enough for the majority party in both houses to want him to go away.
Right now it serves the Republicans to have a bumbling demented idiot as a President. We might see their attitudes change if the polls look bad (as per Al above), or if he starts to cause other problems.

Ah - OK. So mocking the disabled and grabbing pussy and pissing on prostitutes isn't enough, yet… Urgh. Give him enough rope and hopefully he'll hang himself, politically as well. Bloody excuse for a human being.

Good article
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jan/14/donald-trump-press-conference-twitter-media
I really like how Trump handles these kind of situations, he'll just tell it like it is, a transparency that has been missing.
CNN ran with a silly story and got called out, now will have to pay, loving that Trump called them out on it.
With the tweets people are now informed and have a feeling of being connected.
"Build the Wall!!!" "Lock her up!!!" "Make America Great Again".
The saga continues.
Could anyone imagine crooked Hillary being the president? My God!!!

No he'll play to dimwits who wish the world was less complicated than it is. Evidenced by the fact that....

Neither of these things will happen.
