Excellent comments, Colin. I heartily approve.
Andy's mature attitude is entirely due to his upbringing, for which both Will and Judy must take credit. Yes they separated when Andy and Jamie were young, but it is obvious that their influence on both boys continued to their sons' advantage

Andrew I agree with every word that you say. Andy is naturally a shy person, and is one of the modest misunderstood sportsmen on the planet I have also followed his career since the early days and he has given me many many hours of exquisite pleasure in his many battles on court and his quest to reach the very pinnacle of the sport of tennis. The most endearing part of Andys character is his ordinariness and unassuming nature coupled with a fierce determination which is mistaken for arrogance which Andy certainly is not! I have been involved in sport all my life I coach skiing and I believe that I have fair understanding of what it takes to reach the very top in sport. I am 61 years old play tennis and racket ball to a reasonable standard. What makes me laugh is the commentators and journalists most of whom have never picked up a racket of any sort plus a great deal of the general public who all feel that they are qualified in making judgements always negative about Andy. When I tell you that the number of arguments that I have had with all sorts of people whose mouths fall open gawping when I vigorously defend him it is quite astonishing. The most odd thing of all is that nobody questions footballers actions, behaviour, lack of sportsmanship, intelligence or lack of personality, not to mention scandal off the pitch, by comparison Andy is head and shoulders above all this.

Firstly I am a huge fan of Andy Murray and agree with SOME of what you ASSUME !I think he does care about what people say , he is a warm human being and THE most talented, entertaining, committed tennis player of this generation. I am so proud that he is British/Scottish. As for Roger Federer you have an exact copy of my sentiments!
Maureen good to read your post - why don't you come and join us?

Authority: Mr. Federer, I'm afraid we will have to take all those awards back. We've decided this upon your outburst at the AO against Murray. You see we thought you are the perfect role model for these awards but now we can see that we are sadly wrong. Federer: you ******* crazy!

I for one do not want to waste time slating RF, he was a once dominant tennis player who ruled all that was put in front of him on a tennis court. Sure he has an issue with Andy Murray, I think that's great shows Andy irks him not due to any verbals but due to the fact that Andy has emerged as a world class tennis player and one that can now put RF firmly in his place. Andy is courteous towards RF when asked and always states his success and how he relishes the opportunity to play against a legend. Well done Mr M for showing an abundance of class, even though it is never reciprocal from RF.
