imo as of right now they r strictly just mixed doubles partners, who are obviously friends with each other. who knows in the future when she is 18 or something then we can seriously talk about potential there. but now they just need to focus on their tennis and should just continue as doubles partners because they're obviously a very talented team who mesh well together. let's face it if they did get romantically involved (which I would love! lol) and didn't end out well then we won't be able to see our beloved British team and I personally wouldn't want that.

^ Yes.... that's why I said 'at this stage'.  Who knows what may develop.

I understand what you mean Elly although some relationships start out that way and develops further as the female grows up.  Laura's voice sounded very childish in her on court interview at the Hopman cup.

A strange kind of brother/sister relationship though for Laura said "He is mean to me and I am mean to him."

Maybe it's just me, but I see their relationship more like a brother/sister thing at this stage.  They clearly have great banter between them, and are very relaxed with each other, though.  Who can say?

Yeah, I doubt Laura had anything at all to do with the split.

Yeah I agree that now things are very different, but obviously when kim and andy split, she was still 15 so I doubt that had anything to do with their split. And you're right, she probably would have flirted with andy at 15 but she seems rational and I imagine she was talking herself down from any feelings she was having for andy, and it would have been pathetic on kim's part to have felt threatened by a 15 year old....

Actually... I never meant to say she would have had a relationship at 15, I've simply been referring to whether she'd flirt with Andy at 15.

However, now she is 16, I think she would possibly have a relationship with Andy.

I can't believe we're still talking about this. lmao

Next we'll be romantically linking him with Sue Barker.
I'll get my laptop...

It's an interesting idea that she was the cause for the split, but I don't think Andy would have broken up with Kim for her, because, despite what Mark thinks/says, I don't think he would have even entertained the idea of a relationship with a 15 year old...

And I don't think Nigel Sears has much to do with it because he's coached basically everyone in British womens tennis...

Yeah she certainly did which is what she should have expected but maybe she didn't know it would be that difficult.

I just think that a long-distance relationship might have become too difficult. Add in the fact that Andy is so driven in his devotion to tennis and Kim may have felt that she played second-fiddle to tennis.

I think Andy and Kim just stopped loving each other and they probably spent very little time together considering his training and his love for Modern Warfare 2 among other games.

Yes, it was almost certainly bullsh*t that Kim broke up with him for that but there is probably some truth to it, it was probably one of many things that bugged her.

I don't think so.  Andy has always publicly stated that he wanted to be in a stable relationship because his parent's break up hurt him so much.  I believe Andy to be faithful but due to the rigours and demands of the tennis tour and training, he did not have sufficient time to maintain/develop his relationship with Kim which I think is a great shame as they seem well suited to one another.

Having said that, Laura's energy and enthusiasm can help Andy relax and play to his maximum potential on court so I think they can go well together in terms of Andy's tennis performance.  It would be great to see them playing a few more doubles tournaments together to see the dynamics develop between them.

Never crossed my mind... I think that's certainly a very far fetched theory, how well did they know each other in Q4 2009?

I'll admit it's unlikely, but it's definitely not inconceivable.

If nothing else, they were both at all four slams in 2009 and the British tennis representation at those events is small. So I imagine they'd have at least talked a few times. Was Kim at all the slams with Andy last year? I can't remember.

If Andy and Laura did want to kick something off, then clearly Andy would want to end one well before publicly starting the other for PR reasons...

Am I the only one wondering whether Laura had anything to do with the Andy/Kim split?
