aiming to be in the queue for 6am might even get you court 2 tickets, that's a round the time of the first tube, you can leave it a little later and have a lie in and still get ground passes, about 8 ish.

you can't bring any advertising in, they'll give you a load of stuff in the queue free with papers like binoculars or ponchos but don't get excited because they'll make you bin them at security! do get a paper though cos they'll have the order of play and you can decide what you want to see and kind of make an itinerary!

we bring chairs for the queue and you leave them in left luggage, it was a pound last year. If you get caught in the queue near the porta potties on the golf course when it's being emptied, run - it's nasty!

that's about it! it's a great holiday, unusual and really enjoyable! x(",)x

here I'm not saying you were standing in the middle of centre court - but it wasn't private so I don't think that was good wording! See you've explained perfectly now that it was "an impression you got" and all that, but from the first post and "it was coming" and "she was silly", it wasn't as obvious! now we all good?! or are the rest of you pumped up for an actual fight? x(",)x

ah in fairness Mark, I was 17 I knew I liked the guy but I wasn't thinking lasting relationship, I was thinking summer fling!! when I first met him anyway, after a while I knew it would last longer!

But it is true! lol If you did it with the intention of it being a fun short relationship with lots of lust and great sex then yes, you probably should have asked her first but if you did it thinking it could turn out to be something special then your friend is not important.

ugh!! my friend was way more important than some guy we'd only just met!!

Neil I read all your posts, you didn't really need to quote them! I'm sorry if I annoyed or upset you, but I was pretty much in the same boat when i came on here and saw you talking about me, not exactly painting me in the best light (because you didn't know better and didn't know my POV). And yes I do think that one comment about the tube station is laughable. You used the word privacy and it wasn't private, it's a public place. I understand what you mean, I walked away and gave you alone time i guess with Lola but it wasn't private!

I think it was coming anyway.

This seems fairly definite of your insight into our relationship and I don't appreciate that kind of comment coming from someone who only knows one of us. You spent three days with us so I don't really understand how you can decide it was coming. I know you said you think a lot, that's great, it's your opinion and that's what I'm talking about.

And I don't want to fight with you Neil, that's not why I commented. It really wasn't angry, it would have been had I replied when I first read it, and saw that you were talking about me but I waited. I know it was a long time ago, but I haven't been on to reply, I'm not resentful and holding a grudge or anything like that. I'm simply replying when I got around to it.

I never said anything which made you out to be a bad person or that you did anything wrong, so kindly don't do the same to me.

You're not a bad person and you didn't do anything wrong - I didn't make it out like that. But the fact of the matter is, on that holiday, the right things that you thought you did, include me all that kind of stuff, didn't turn out that well, and I really didn't enjoy those few days. Then again putting a happy face next to a comment saying you may have made too very good friends fall out isn't exactly the nicest thing to do.

oh no this isn't some angry reply or anything, I'm just furthering the discussion to include my point of view, and the facts in some cases!

Cáit táim ar fheabhas, agus tú fhéin?? I do chonaí i Londáin?!? ooo!!!

I don't think it's necessary the rules Mark, but i went out of my way to say I wasn't going to do anything with him and i totally abandoned that opinion soon after, so I broke that promise and she trusted that I wasn't going to do anything but I did. I was of the opinion for ages that he asked me so it was all good, but it was wrong of me to say yes when I knew it would hurt her! x(",)x

Well Neil thank you for that very humorous little insight into my life - it all seems so much clearer now that you have explained that my friendship with Lola was doomed and this was all coming.

My name is Caoimhe for those of you who don't know me, I've been a member here for a few years but my involvement in the site kind of fizzled away during my a-level style exams last year, although my interest has never subsided.

I went on a holiday with Lola, another member here, in June 2006 to visit Wimbledon. She was my best friend at the time. She had recently been emailing and texting Neil from this site, and they decided to meet up over the London holiday. I wasn't exactly over joyed by this idea, but I wasn't going to object. I had no problem meeting someone we had met off the internet since I trusted Lola's judgement. I only had reservations since it was all new to me and was just the fear of the unknown. Once there, as Neil mentioned in his comment, the pair made every effort to sit apart and include me in everything. It was incredibly obvious and made me feel even more uncomfortable. Including me could have involved talking to me prior to the event, but 99% per cent of the time it was Lola. It is laughable that the word privacy can be related to your time at the tube station Neil, me walking away did nothing to ease the sight for everyone else walking up that stairs. But that was the only public display of affection in their defence.

Following our London trip, which was at this stage totally ruined for me, we had a little discussion, let our feelings out etc and were back to square one, planning a girls only trip to Aberdeen and then Wimbledon 2007. Neil had absolutlely no long lasting effect on our relationship, clearly much to his dismay for what ever reason, but it was going to take a much more deserving man to come between Lola and me.

Before we'd even been to Wimbledon that year, our friends had been introduced to a lovely group of guys, one in particular who was good looking, funny and just great to be around. Lola, myself and another friend were instantly attracted to him, but none of us really acknowledged how much the others liked him. We decided to not do anything since it would only complicate things, but when he asked me on a date, I couldn't say no. This obviously was going to affect the relationship between myself and Lola, I broke a promise and the trust we shared, and she underestimated how much I liked him. This put a temporary dent in our friendship, until Lola came to forgive me.

I'm fairly confident that whatever Lola told Neil about us was meant to be for Neil and if this is the way he's treating the information, then I doubt there will be many replies to the odd email you still send her.

Two years on and I'm just back from my third Wimbledon adventure with my best friend Lola, and I've still got that wonderful boyfriend. And I'm constantly a third wheel for Lola and her boyfriend, but since he has made an effort to be my friend it's all just good fun.

Lola and I joined MW during an academic year when we could get away with spending hours online, and I know the reason I stopped using this site was because of time constraints. Not Neil. I miss it though, it was lovely talking to everyone and having people know who you are, now we're just the "two irish girls" as Quackers put it in the Wimbledon photos thread.

I'm looking forward to talking to you on bebo davidb.

Well done people.
So where you have A3, A2, A1 etc, is that the same as what we would call A+, A, A-?

yup i think so! x(",)x

12  General Community / Chit Chat / Re: Exam results on: August 06, 2007, 07:16 pm
the irish colleges award 150 points to an A a level and take your best 4 as far as I know.

I think BBBB is much harder in that you have to be above average at all subjects whereas I can level out my strengths and weaknesses x(",)x
13  General Community / Chit Chat / Re: Exam results on: August 06, 2007, 07:09 pm
obviously!! ugh 4 b's don't know if i'd be too keen on that, I have to get about 360 points (it changes due to supply and demand so I don't know the exact number) so I do 8 subjects and get points for each grade i get, 100 for A1 85 for B1 etc and i take my best 6 grades and work out the points. its pretty cool cos if i was to get BBBB thats the same as 320 points but i could get 2 A1s and 2 C3s and get the same points. its really not as confusing as it sounds!

what course do u want to do? x(",)x
14  General Community / Chit Chat / Re: Exam results on: August 06, 2007, 07:01 pm
