Thanks for the replies everyone.

Never been to New York before so I'm mega excited about the whole thing!

It's good to hear that the subway runs late because our hotel is in Manhatten, so probably going to be using that to get to/from Flushing Meadows.

Tickets were $329 each

Sounds awesome, I'd love to go to the AO one day Smile
3  General Community / Andy Talk / Re: How did you guys find out about Andy Murray? on: July 10, 2013, 02:08 am
I heard of him at the time of his US Open Juniors win in 2004 but it was during Queens and Wimbledon in 2005 that I really started to pay close attention (is that REALLY 8 years ago?!)

I've pretty much followed him every tournament since then - and what a ride it has been! I have some great memories of seeing him break through on the tour, getting to his first final and winning his first title.

That first Wimbledon in 2005 was particularly memorable. It was easy to see that he was something special and destined to win grand slams.

It's weird but I've never met Andy, yet somehow I feel like I know him. He really is just an ordinary humble guy with an extraordinary talent.

Hi everyone,

I've just booked tickets for the US Open - I went for the Open Premiere plan and so have tickets for every first round match on Arthur Ashe.

Can't wait to go now Smile but just wondered if anyone's been before and has any tips for visiting, must sees etc?

Thanks

Dan

Still can't believe it. Having followed Andy for close to 10 years this is simply incredible..... Wimbledon Champion!!
6  General Community / Andy Talk / Re: Wimbledon 2013 QF: Andy Murray vs. Fernando Verdasco on: July 03, 2013, 10:46 pm
Really proud of him today - what fantastic guts and determination he showed in this match. I can be slightly smug though and say that I still 100% believed Andy was going to win, even at 2 sets down Smile ... after all he has showed himself time and time again to have the ability to make epic comebacks and play well when it really matters.

Thanks for your sympathy, flowerpower. It is really difficult to see Andy live. As I said it is my fourth attempt and when I booked the tickets I reckoned his chances to make the QF in Rome highest. Yet, you can never be sure. So I have to keep on trying although I feel a bit at a loss at the moment.

I didn't realise you had tickets too Frown ... I have them for today and am pretty gutted also.

If this is your fourth attempt then all I can say is its bad luck. I've seen Andy play a few times and if you keep trying you WILL get to see him at some point Smile

Have you thought about camping for tickets at Wimbledon?

Hope you have a good day tomorrow anyway. I'm still looking forward to today despite not seeing Andy... Chin up

Thanks guys... Good line up tomorrow with Djoko, Nadal, Fed and Sharapova all playing...but I would have traded them all to see Andy Frown

Oh well, it's just one of those things. On the plus side I'm going to see some great tennis and spend time in Rome which is a fab city.

Now please Andy be ok for Wimbledon!!

I'm pretty gutted that Andy has pulled out as I desperately wanted to see him play tomorrow, but it looks like he didn't have much choice and I wish him a very speedy recovery. Not the way he wanted to spend his birthday I'm sure Frown

Can't pretend I'm not disappointed. The line up is great tomorrow but Andy was the one I came here to see Frown

Woop Woop come on Andy Very Happy
11  General Community / Andy Talk / Re: Murray's Cars on: May 13, 2013, 10:57 pm
Andy has a grey Jaguar XKR convertible (there are pics on Google from Wimbledon last year if you want to see it). I believe he changed to that because of a sponsorship deal and that's why he doesn't have the Aston ant more. He also owns a VW Polo as mentioned above.

Andy/Kim also own a black Porsche Cayenne. There was a pic of them leaving a London restaurant late last year with Kim driving.

I'm sure he probably owns other cars too.

I drive a nice little BMW 1 Series.

If Andy is playing second round Wednesday, does anyone know if he would play his third round match on Thursday? That's if he gets through of course Smile I'm assuming that the third round is just one day but not completely sure of the schedule. Just trying to work out my chances of seeing him lol

Hopefully Andy has settled a little on the clay by now. Monte Carlo was first tournament on clay and then Madrid is a little different as we all know.

Come on Andy!!

Yea I'm very excited and keeping my fingers crossed for Andy Smile

I'll def post some pics. Have a good zoom on my camera so hopefully will get some decent ones, although don't think we're very near the front.

Hope you have a fabulous time. Fingers crossed you get to see him. Have you seen Andy live before? If not, you're in for a treat. It's something else to see him live. An amazing experienece.

Thanks Smile. Yea I've seen him live quite a few times and I definitely agree with you that it's amazing live, especially if it's a close match and good atmosphere! The venues always look a lot different than on tv too.

I'm going to this tournament and have tickets for Campo Centrale on Thursday (day and evening) and Sunday (final)

Obviously I'm mega excited but praying that we get to see Andy Smile

Has anyone been or got any tips they could share?

I'll try and take lots of pics and get them up on here.

Dan
