He's the underdog in as much the same way as Andy was favourite today. Nole is number 3 in the world and has won a slam before. He hasn't lost a set on the way to the final, has had an extra days rest and beat Federer in the semi. Andy's number 5 in the world and hasn't won a slam before. He hasn't had to play anyone ranked higher than him yet and has lost 2 sets in the last 4 days. It's not by much, but he is the underdog. I'm not sure many outside the UK will be lumping too much expectation on him, something I think he quite likes.

I'm excited about this match as I think it's something new for mens tennis and it's been a long time coming to have these two meet each other in the final of a slam. Ever since their battle in Madrid to be the first into the top 8 and to make it to Shanghai.

Come on Andy lad. You can do this. Murray in 4 for me.

Yeah, maybe Djokovic has peaked too soon! We live in hope people...

Ooh, and it's gonna have been hotter, sunnier and more humid by then, which Nole doesn't like too much. Why can't it be played in the afternoon!

I hope these guys run each other ragged. Although I do think Nole has looked the more impressive of the two this week. And Andy hasn't played him for a really long time so that could be pretty dangerous too. Let's just hope we are actually looking at Andy's next opponent. He's still got a Semi to get through too you know.

You guys still haven't caught up yet? Maybe you should make a date for the Australian Open next year?

It's really interesting to see how everyone is and funny to see just how many of the old faithfuls are still out there lurking, even if we don't post as much as we once did!

Hi David. So cool how this thread seems to have brought a few of the oldschool lurkers back out in the open!

Indeed Hazel. Although I don't count you as a MW friend cause we're related...

Will be very good though!

This website has seen a lot of romantic interests spring up, and I cannot explain why!

It's cause it always seems to be full of horny students and teenagers that have nothing better to do with their time than type dirty PM's to one another!

Man, the nostalgia! I remember joining MW during the Australian Open 2006 when there was the controversy of Andy saying that he and another player had 'played like women' cause there'd been so many breaks of serve. I had been lurking since the US Open 2005 though.

At the time I was at Uni studying for an English degree and living away from home. Since then I've graduated, had a gap year, met dozens of people on here, been to Canada with one of them, been to Wimbledon, done a masters degree, graduated from that too, broken up with a quite long term boyfriend, gained my teaching diploma, completed my probationary year, got a full time job, bought a flat, bought a car, found a new bloke!

Remembering all the late night livescores, the little Murray drama that Dave and Cate did, remember Mo and all her crazyness, and Arka's sleep fasts or whatever you might call them! The relationships have been pretty crazy too! Such a huge chunk of people's lives!

And Amy's coming to see me this weekend! Can't wait!

Fun? Maybe he gets on well with some of these guys and wants the opportunity to have a hit about with some of these guys, in the sun, for charity. It seems he's definitely doing Mark Knowles a favour here though. Biggest name on that list by a MILE.

The thing I hate most about the whole thing is that I need to support Federer. But needs must. As long as Andy shows up on Thursday I think we'll be ok. There are so many ways he can get through I think he'd either have to be pretty rubbish or pretty unlucky not to make it. Then that's what we said last year. At least this time he'll know what he needs to do. It will be in his hands by the time he plays.

So that Nadal Fed semi still on the cards?
45  General Community / Andy Talk / Re: Ranking next week... on: November 23, 2010, 10:49 pm
It's a tough ask but I managed last year for the 4 games or so that it mattered so I'm sure I can do it again. Yuk! Come the semis I'm a paid up member of the GOAT haters again!
