Sorry, I wasn't commenting on what you'd just said, you just posted before I did. You're right, I mean, it's in the organisers best interests to give the top names a break.

You know, I was thinking, what a shame for Petch to miss last night! I mean it was great that Kim was there and all but I'm sure Andy missed him. He's been at so many other games but he missed this whole week!

but seeing as how andy has few points to defend, he might have no choice but to be british number 1! I don't think he'll be bothered that he is. Just that he doesn't think it means anything in the long run. Same idea as his attitude to Wimbledon. Like he said, he could draw Fed first round a go out, he could get a straightforward draw and make the finals. It's entirely dependent on the seeding and the luck of the draw. Just as long as his tennis is improving...

We did notice the Aberdeen Cup t-shirt. We decided that he'd won the Aberdeen Cup in that t-shirt, beaten Greg and that he thought it was lucky. Maybe not it's last outing then?

The crowd were really behind him last night too. It's amazing, the Americans love him. They have ever since he won the US junior title. And he's publically said many times that to him the US Open is the most important title for him to win. I'm sure that has something to do with their support. Plus, he seems to love playing over there too.

Yeah he said British number one didn't mean anything to him. He said it was much more important to concentrate on his world ranking place. Arka's right he said that he would much rather be British number three and in the top 20 that number one and in the top 70. Shows a great deal of maturity I think.

Me too. i have uni in the morning. I didn't stay up last night but I woke up at 6.30 and had to come down and check the beeb website. Checked it, got really excited, did a little dance, then went back to bed.

We sky viewers'll try and help you visualise the big points. I watched the whole of the Roddick match this morning and it was amazing! Andy-M was just fantastic! He was serving so well. didn't get the stats but it must have been high 70's of first serves in. he just stayed so composed and Roddick was trying everything. He was even coming into the net on big points and when he does that you know he's desperate! Mind you, you could tell Andy got nervous serving out, 2 double faults in 4 shots. I was on the edge of my seat and I knew the score. Can't wait till tonight.

That would be the wallace monument in Stirling. It's quite nice actually. I'd definately go to Stirling if I was doing a whistle stop tour of Scotland. It's halfway between Edinburgh and Glasgow. Has a really nice castle too.
