You are right there, Aileen, “it doesn’t bear thinking about”!  (One of my grandmother’s favorite sayings, therefore, one of mine, also) and I can say that without offense, I hope, as I am older than you.

You probably know by now, but it turned out to be (they now believe) one person who did the shooting in Dallas. It was determined later that he was a veteran who had served in Iraq.  He told the police during the time they were trying to negotiate with him that he was doing it because of being upset over the two recent (horrific) killings by police in Louisiana and Minnesota.  The march going on in Texas at the time was peaceful, the police were in summer gear, and all friendly together like letting them express their upset over the recent shootings. It was not those protesters who were involved in the killing of the 5 policemen and injuring 7 others.  The police had this shooter cornered in a building and after many hours of trying to negotiate with him (ie. get him to come out I suppose) and being unsuccessful & 5 officers being already shot dead, they sent in a 'robot bomb" which killed him.

It is all tremendously sad.

Excellent tennis, with good end result!  Well done, Andy!  Kept me on the edge most of the time. So happy it ended well.  Excited about the next match, hope Andy is getting as much rest up as possible!

Nice report, Joe.

Well done Andy!!  Well done, Sam!   I'm not a Djokovic fan but saw most of an interview  after his game and I thought he was ok in it. He was not going to put himself down though coaxed to do so, can't blame him for that. He  was subdued which was nice to see & he gave credit to Sam Q. for his performance.

Well done, Andy.  Congratulations on making it into the final at the French Open!
It was great to see Andy win the first round.  In the 2nd & 3rd there were some very good shots but it was obvious that Djokovic was the more well rested of the two for the event. That is not an excuse I think it is a fact that he had more time to rest up, also Andy had much harder opponents I think in the previous games.    Anyway, very proud of Andy as always!  Need a bit of a rest now myself---I was happy to see Andy come close in the 4th round.  I knew it was possible he was close enough to do it and about shouted my head off encouraging him, with no one to hear me but the birds outside the window.  Always Andy!  More fun ahead.

I missed what happened towards the end of the first round when Djokovic was yelling at the umpire. I expect I can read about it somewhere in these postings so will look later.  If it was a ploy to distract Andy it didn't work there.  Must say I would love to have seen Andy clear Djokovic's face of it's smirkiness in round 4.  Well, he did for a while.  Never mind, there will be more chances.
