Jim: Hey Andy I know you've been out here chatting in 35 degree heat for the last 40 minutes but just before you go can you turn and look at the camera and do an impersonation of a kangaroo doing an overhead smash.
Andy : *@()(^%^**?@!!

TD Absolutely. Billy Connolly was just there watching a tennis match. The last thing he wanted to do was to take the limelight away from Andy. Billy was absolutely right to shake his head and stop the thing before it even got started. It all went embarrassingly wrong for Jim and I hope he's a bit more low key in the future. He even asked Andy to adlib into the camera. Andy's a tennis player. Not one of the guys on Have I Got New For You. Andy could have ended up looking really stupid and Im glad he ended it quickly with his aliens jibe.

I think he's a bit arrogant and doesn't appreciate the fact the players have just given their all and don't want a 10 minute interview after a match. Its basically the Jim Courier show. It would be more entertaining if one of the players just decked him next time.

What is it with this guy? Let the players leave the court for petes sake! A couple of words is enough but Jim wants a fully fledged interview by the looks of it. Im surprised he didn't bring a couple of chairs with him. Im glad Billy Connelly gave him short shrift and you could tell Andy just wanted off the court as well. Andy should just wave to the crowd and walk right by him next time.

Quite. But I think we know by now if he plays more tournaments his average points per tournament will drop. Look what happened at the US Open. The 2 Master tournaments beforehand seemed to wipe him out physically and mentally for the big one. So I understand why he's wanting a relaxing build-up to the Ozzie Open. But at the end of the day Andy is #5 position is well merited. He'd struggle if he played more so don't make excuses by saying his average points per tournament would put him 3rd.

At least Nadal, Federer and Djokovic will probably be as disappointed as Andy. None of them will want Andy in their quarter. I'll guess Andy will be in Djokovic's quarter. Its ages since they played each other and they are due a matchup.

It works for Nadal and Federer because they are well ahead in the rankings. For Andy to lose his #4 spot only 1 week before a Slam is desperately poor planning by him. The odds on Andy winning his first Slam will have tumbled today unfortunately.

Soderling doesnt have the skill and touch Andy has obviously. But thats only part of being a great player and I dont think the rankings lie. Andy has a real problem playing well in successive tournaments and thats why he didn't play in Doha or Brisbane. Its a real problem because his ranking has suffered. Look at the number of ranking tournaments Andy plays in comparison to Djokovic, Soderling or other top ten players. He plays about 4 less than them and thats very significant.

Andy losing his #4 spot is a bit of a disaster to be honest. Soderling has taken full advantage of Andy chosing to play "friendlies" instead of chasing vital ranking points. The bottom line is soderling is the 4th best player in the world. He is #4 on merit and Andy is #5 on merit. Unfortunately although Andy is more talented he doesnt have the fitness and/or mental toughness to compete in as many ranking tournaments as Soderling and most of the other players on the tour.
