You seemed surprised when you objected to me saying that the match was slipping away. Shrug

You then admitted you were venting though.... I went to bed after the 2nd set tiebreak anyway. I would have agreed if you had said it then, rather than just when they were back on serve earlier in the set.

Disappointed to wake up to this result, was enjoying the match before I had to go to bed. Not entirely surprised he wilted though.... sigh.....

Sorry, I'm clearly not paying attention as to how it is slipping away... lol

Such negativity.

Murray to break and say in the press conference, "we played like women" lol

Oh, whoops.

No - no aces yet according to the official stats. WaWa managed to get a least the outside of a frame on each one.

I could have sworn he hit one in his last service game? Just the one mind? lol Maybe I imagined it....

Doubtful indeed. I'd say it's just a case of WaWa dropping his level slightly - which was inevitable. Nobody paints the lines like that for an entire match.

You know I mean just for the aces? Or lack of them....?

He's had one ace now anyway.

My dad just wondered if it was his string tension in his first racquet that was maybe off? Doubtful, but not impossible.

Burst a string there by the looks of it. Unlucky.

On Wawa calling out....

"On page 12 of the Rules of Tennis 2009, there is a section called "hindrance", which says that if player is hindered by an opponent then he or she wins the point, unless it's unintentional, in which case the point is replayed.

"It's always been at the discretion of the umpire, the whole issue of players grunting or shrieking or whatever," says the ITF spokesman.
"In terms of the rules, an umpire must decide that a player was making unnecessary noise." "

So in this case, Wawa's noise was unnecessary, but unintentional, so the point should have been replayed as he went on to win the point.

The umpire suggesting it was to do with where the ball was going is wrong according to this. Unless the rules have been updated.

Shouted "allez" because he thought the ball had gone into the net.

Thanks Smile

Bad decision from the umpire then. Should have been a let at least.

Also, that ball there, ridiculous call. Clearly in :P

That was exceptional from andy. Truly excellent slices to get back into position and slow it down.
