Wawrinka won't keep up this explosive level. He'll start missing. And Murray will come good when it matters.

Murray in 3.

Bit horrified by the huge amount of damage caused by earthquake.  Got quite a lot of pics of it on news last night.  I suppose it's a mercy that it happened during the night when most folk were indoors.

She wants match updates, not earthquake opinions! :P

Daisy, I was generally despairing about your attitude and having a little giggle over the ridiculousness of this thread, but then I actually got annoyed when you said....

"
Let's talk about this sentence.  Would you actually use those words to, let's say your parents?  One of your lecturers? If you don't want to take it that far, then let's just say someone 15 years older than you are and therefore more mature than you are - unless they are handicapped in some way.  I don't actually think you would.  I think you might uses that hectoring tone with your peers, but believe me, adults do not talk to each other like that.  Not if they want to get on in this world.
And, I am not being patronising, although I can see why you might think I am - I am making a genuine observation.  Whether you choose to accept it or not, is entirely up to you and will not put me up nor down, either way.

The fact you assume that age equates to maturity demonstrates your inability to show respect for anyone younger than yourself. You completely lack the ability to accept other peoples opinions based on their merit alone, rather finding yourself hindered by who is making them. It's incredibly patronising, and incredibly insulting.

Not to mention, I've just noticed, "unless they are handicapped in some way". This strikes me as incredibly small minded and evil of you to be frankly honest. Although in reality it's probably just your ignorance. You suggest that someone who is handicapped is less mature? Absolutely ridiculous statement and something I think you should apologise for, that sort of thing could cause a lot of offence.

I entirely agree with all of Andrew's responses, and I don't blame him (and others) for being fed up of your split personalities.

Have the luxury of sky sports 2 and Greg's lovely commentary.

I hated his "What's his ranking, what's my ranking?" comment he made about Murray.

A few years on, he looks to be one of the worst grand slam winners ever. If he wins another, I will eat my own foot.

When/where did he say that about rankings?  I missed that.  I've gone off him too for various reasons.  I once rather liked him but, while I like to see passion on the court, there's something so aggressive about him at times that I find it rather off-putting and his tennis is really erratic (I know Andy's can be abit erratic too but I've always thought he was the better player of the two).

Australian Open 09 I think when Murray was listed as favourite by a lot of people. Or was it this year? No, I think it was 2009.

Cilic out! 6-1 in the 5th set!

Do we think Taylor Dent can upset Soderling later?

Federer progressing to the next round with ease it seems.
85  General Community / Andy Talk / Re: Ranking next week... on: September 02, 2010, 08:36 pm
Updated

Points of players without their US Open points from 2009....

1) Rafael Nadal  10025
2) Roger Federer 6015
3) Novak Djokovic 5945
4) Andy Murray 4945
5) Robin Soderling 4550
6) Nikolay Davydenko 4105
7) Thomas Berdych 3770
8) Andy Roddick 3135
9) David Ferrer 3020
10) Fernando Verdasco 2970

No other player can mathematically overtake Andy.

Berdych can not overtake Andy as he is out.
Roddick can not overtake Andy as he is out.
Davydenko can not overtake Andy as he is out.
Verdasco can not overtake Andy as Andy has now reached the 2nd round.

If Andy goes out in Round of 64
  • Soderling can overtake by reaching the Semi-Final
  • Ferrer can overtake by winning the tournament

The lowest Andy can finish is 6th, highest 4th

Round of 32 or Round of 16 then
  • Soderling can overtake by reaching the Semi-Final

The lowest Andy can finish is 5th, highest 4th

If Andy goes out in the Quarter-finals or Semi-finals
  • Soderling can overtake by reaching the Final

The lowest Andy can finish is 5th, highest 4th

If Andy reaches the final
  • Soderling can overtake by winning the title
  • Djokovic stays ahead by reaching the Quarter-finals
  • Federer stays ahead by reaching the Round of 16

The lowest Andy can finish is 5th, highest is 2nd

If Andy wins the Title
  • Djokovic stays ahead by reaching the Final
  • Federer stays ahead by reaching the Final

The lowest Andy can finish is 3rd as both these can't happen, highest 2nd

Almost 2 hours later and they're into the 5th.

Epic.....

Davy looks like he's about to flop out of the tournament!
88  General Community / Andy Talk / Re: Ranking next week... on: September 02, 2010, 08:26 pm
Your calculation's are still correct for the case where Andy reaches the QF, even though Davydenko can get level with him by reaching the final, because Andy wins the tie-breaker.

I know, hence why I left it :p
89  General Community / Andy Talk / Re: Ranking next week... on: September 02, 2010, 08:20 pm
They're both still wrong...
Nadal's on 10025, Murray on 4945.

lol Double typo!

Also, should possibly have waited til after today, as Davy is struggling!
