It's not what he does that's negative, but the way that he does it.  Deliberately pulling people's posts apart in an attempt to prove that he's right and just about everyone else is wrong, is not my idea of fair discussions.

.........................  but surely that is the very essence of debate, isn't it, Aileen?  In that particular post Boogers was inviting you to begin a new discussion - I just don't see how that can possibly be viewed as being negative.

3 out of 4 of the RG semi-finalists played on grass this week and went out in the first or second round - says it all really.  The fourth is sunning himself on holiday - perhaps Djoko is the only one with any sense!

On that happy note I will say 'adieu'.  There are some very interesting and insightful posters on this forum and I have really enjoyed reading your posts but I just can't be bothered with the negativity of the few any longer - life's too short.  Take care one and all!

I have to say that I spent much of my working life in England and abroad and never encountered any anti-Scottish feeling - quite the reverse in fact.

Bad luck, Wardy - he played a great first set there and lost it so narrowly.

Scots are not the only ones who are rubbished, the Welsh and Irish receive their fair share.

I also don't know of anyone who thought Salmond's action at Wimbledon was appropriate.  It was embarrassing for Andy and for Scotland.

The Lendl/Andy pairing was so unique and so successful that to replace like for like was never going to be an option IMO.  I'm sure Andy has made a conscious decision to go for someone as different as possible so that comparisons become irrelevant.  He's also at quite a different place in his career to where he was when he appointed Lendl and it would appear that he believes that he now has different needs.  Good luck to both of them - I wish them a long and successful partnership.  

I have to confess that I enjoyed the women's final yesterday far more that the slugfest today.

A pity it had to end on a double fault.  For me that wasn't a particularly enjoyable match to watch - can't wait to get on to the grass.

I am sure Andy has thought long and hard about it and wouldn't have appointed her unless he thought she could bring something to his game.
