@ Aileen.     I didn't say he was the only brilliant tennis player but if you don't watch the world No. 1 you will miss a lot of brilliant tennis.    This is the best match of the tournament so far.     No need to be sorry about being with CP.     We're all entitled to our likes and dislikes.

Tbh, I simply cannot bear watching Djokovic any longer.

That's a pity counter-puncher.    It means you'll miss a lot of brilliant tennis.

Shetland must feel particularly distant from what goes on in Edinburgh.

I would imagine they will.    I know how distant I feel from Westminster.    I would prefer the administrative capital of Scotland to be in the middle of the country.

He wasn't cross or in a temper, it was an accident.

I agree Moonglow.     And he hadn't lost the set.    The score was 6 - 5.    The big difference to me was the behaviour of the line judges involved.

Hm, and yet face masks were made mandatory on public transport in England on the 15th June. Scotland was... exactly one week behind, with face masks made mandatory on public transport on the 22nd of June. Odd, that.

I'm still comfortable with characterising Sturgeon's strategy as basically - fundamentally - Boris strategy +1. Thank good for pooling and sharing from the rest of the UK to pay for it, eh!

It's still weird how you were lied about the reasons for allowing travel too and from Spain - especially as the Westminster government is now considering adding Spain back on the quarantine list. lol

Different countries.    Different circumstances.      Different actions at different times.    Good.    Now we are both comfortable.

^   Agree MM.    Nothing perfect but quite well handled on the whole.

Maybe you could specify which changes you're talking about? lol

Honestly boogers, if I didn't know better I would think you just want to keep chatting to me.   I'll give you a clue to one of them...I'm just back from my local shop and my face mask is in the wash.

Desperate stuff iluvandy. You kneejerked in at the merest hint of criticism of Sturgeon, sprayed personal insults around and now find yourself in a hole.

So where does that leave us? Correctly characterising Sturgeon's strategy as Boris + 1, and acknowledging that all three mainland governments have made a total ballsup of the pandemic.

Simple stuff. I  don't know how to help you understand that.  Sorry. Smile

I don't need help to understand your post.     I can see when you are dodging the issue.    Incidentally my original comment was not in defence of Sturgeon....it merely pointed out your error.    However if you are happy with your conclusion that announcing changes two weeks in advance of Johnson adds up to Johnson + 1 then I am happy to leave you in that state.

Back to basics.     You said Sturgeon's strategy was Johnson + 1.     I said you were wrong.     Simple stuff.     I  don't know how to help you understand that.    Sorry.

Do you actually think through your insults before spaffing them onto the screen?

Insults?    I told you you were wrong.    Not an insult.    A correction.   I suppose suggesting belief in Bojo's leadership qualities borders on being an insult but only to someone of a sensitive nature.   Judged by your posts that does not apply to you.
56  General Community / Chit Chat / Re: Corona virus on: July 22, 2020, 05:38 pm
No, I'm fairly comfortable with characterising Sturgeons "strategy" as Boris +1

Talking of smokescreens, I admire your attempt. Much better than addressing the huge nonsensical hole in the Spain quarantine reversal. Smile

Either you are fairly comfortable with being wrong or you have strong belief in the superiority of Boris as a leader.   Presumably you are also fairly comfortable with being lonely.

As for the decision on Spain it is trying to balance public health and the economy.    It's not set in stone.

It doesn't bother me at all - I'm just fascinated by your cognitive dissonance. You must have developed some tremendous coping strategies!

I have noticed in the past that you are inclined to use a smokescreen rather than admit that you slipped up.     I too like the Swift quote.   If only you had a touch of the giftie you might realise it is not just relevant for other people.
58  General Community / Chit Chat / Re: Corona virus on: July 21, 2020, 10:25 pm

Sturgeon is really just following her Boris + 1 strategy of doing basically the same thing as England, just a week later.

Except, of course, when she does it earlier.    You are a desperate man.     Sturgeon being praised.     Try not to let it bother you so much.

^   Not funny at all, Elly.    I just think I've survived even worse in my lifetime.   It's a bit of a comfort.

^ Does the Surname start with the letter T?
