This used to be Andy's tactic pre Lendl but he's been far more aggressive since 2012. I guess he was a bit nervous about Youzhny. Youzhny's a good player on grass. Robredo was just your pure clay courter.

He got punished one too many times for being ultra cautious in the 2nd set. It also sends signal to his opponent that he is a bit afraid of playing more aggressive tennis. IMO Andy should have mixed it up a bit more but his strategy was to slow things down instead. It worked in the end though and he is slightly more aggressive in this set. The crowd kind of felt his nervousness as well so they weren't as sure either. It's a strange match for me.

Andy holds. 3-0 Andy. If he wins this set then he's still winning it in straight sets but of course, that 2nd set could have gone either way. Andy had faith in himself and he turned it around.

So 63% feel it's Andy's time to win Wimbledon. 37% on the opposite side.

Why is he slicing it so much? Rarely seems to win these rallies.

I just feel he's still not comfortable; still hasn't figured Youzhny out completely so he's being cautious. Just trying to slow the pace down or at least control it. Youzhny is completely ruthless on the other hand. I had expected that. Just didn't expect Andy would be this passive.

Youzhny however has won more points on his 2nd.

That TB was a nail biter. At least we can now relax a bit in this set.
