Someone other than myself has finally identified just what is ruining this forum. Thank you Gnome. Thank you so much.
Hey, I'm on this team too - just haven't gone on and on and on about it!

The difference is, nobody tells you to stop being positive, they don't criticise you for it, and they don't keep whining about it on every thread.
And before you say "well why would they" i personally don't like going onto a thread and seeing "ah well onwards and upwards, at least he has a nice bum!!" but i don't make a habit of pointing that out.
As far as i'm concerned, this is a community where everyone is different, but that seems to upset some people here who seem blissfully unaware that those who continue to blather on about "annoying posters" are themselves becoming just as annoying by constantly referring to it.
Agree 100%.

I don't think it is a problem. Maybe he thinks the other parties are lying. It has been known. Maybe he thinks it is the most sensible thing for Scotland and the rest of the UK. His responses are credible to some people and incredible to others as is the stance of the Westminster parties.
He's said all along that he thinks the other parties are lying - whether he actually believes it - who knows? CU may be the most sensible thing for Scotland, but that doesn't mean rUK should or would agree? He says CU makes sense for rUK - not sure. Now he's saying other parties are creating uncertainty!

Maybe we should revive the tennis 101 thread. All the arrogant/boring/cheating players could go in there, along with many commentators and most MW members. Andy would always qualify for WTF as there would only be about 8 players left, and MW would no longer be spoilt by annoying posters.
Adding a sarcasm alert. just in case...

I think Salmonds line is exactly right. Politics is the art of the possible, no-one will willingly concede ground to the advantage of their opponent. He is absolutely right in his contention that it is in absolutely no-ones interest for an independent Scotland not to use the same currency as the rest of the UK., but it could be done of course at huge cost to either side. Salmond is no fool, and anyone who is baffled by him ought to be very, very careful.
I'm baffled, but not sure how I'm supposed to be careful given that I have no vote or any say in the matter. When you talk about it being in everyone's interest for iScotland to use "the same currency as the rest of the UK", do you mean in a CU? When you say "It could be done", do you mean using plan B, C, D etc... the £ outside CU/ new Scottish currency/ Euro (not possible I think) - in no particular order.

However when a politician sticks to what he believes, e.g. Alex Salmond on currency, people like Althusser think a climb down is the way to go. Maybe the poor old politicians can't win.
Isn't it a problem though that Salmond's currency plan is just plain bonkers? How can he keep saying that Plan A is what will happen when the other parties have said it won't , and refuse to say what the preferred Plan B is. I've read lots, watched the debate, interviews, FMQs. It's utterly baffling how he thinks his responses are in any way credible.

Busy week for Benneteau! Two semi-finals for him today. Yesterday, after beating 3rd seed Wawrinka to get through to his first singles Masters SF, he went on (with Roger-Vasselin) to beat 3rd seeds Nestor & Zimonjic to go through in the doubles.

Interesting presser from Fed last night, he basically says he's happy to have gotten this far and does not need any more matches to be ready for the USO so against Andy he will just play freely and if he loses that's fine but if he wins then good.
It will be interesting to see whether he's as cool about the match as he says he is! He was quite grumpy last night when things weren't going his way - bounced his racquet at one point (comms saying they hadn't seen that for years), then later on hit a ball into the crowd. Wouldn't be surprised if he's a bit tired too - he and Gael both did a lot of running about - over 2kms each apparently. Don't know how that compares to other matches.

Stan's gone as well now - Benneteau through to his first Masters SF 1-6 6-1 6-2. Stan had a weird scoreline yesterday as well v Cilic, winning 3-6 6-0 6-1. Another one needing to find a bit more consistency!
Raonic 6-1 v Fognini at the moment.
The Fed/Monfils match was fun last night - lots of great shots and good rallies as well as some ridiculous errors. Lots of running about getting to shots, and clear swings of momentum. The match could have gone either way.

Unbelievable! Novak out again!
He has done a lot of winning this year though - now a 39/6 win loss ratio. Missed out on being a Grand Master or whatever it's being called - Ben Rothenberg @BenRothenberg ·Novak Djokovic waits at least another year to win Cincinnati, the lone Masters title to elude him. Tommy Robredo wins 7-6, 7-5. #cincytennis

Because he's made a career out of doing exactly that.....
Thanks for the explanation, though still can't see that no match practice since Wimbledon is a help to defending USO - but we'll see what happens. Now Robredo with two match points v Djoko. Match points saved, 5-5 in 2nd set
